Hi y'all, from the heart of Burgundy, on a gorgeous day ... where I am sitting in front of the TV, feeling very sad about the outcome of Fed's match. I will enjoy the next match so much more.

The French announcers talk a lot. It's a good thing I can't understand what they're saying. Except that they say oh-la-la when there is an exceptionally good or bad shot. Which I quite like.

'oh la la' is a lot more polite than some of the things I have been shouting at the tv these last 2 days.

Irene I never used to be very keen on Gulbis, but he has grown on me. He is, at least quite unpredictable

That said, it is a shame to see Federer losing now, but it is opening up the second week quite a bit.

Gullible is so unpredictable - can play like a genius one match, then like a lemon the next. My prediction is that he'll play like a lemon next match & lose, after his achievement today. Agree that he does suffer from being the privileged rich kid who has a lot to prove, and he is difficult to like.

I think Ernie is prob very charismatic and interesting off court, but his on - court antics have earnt him a lot of criticism, plus his lack of commitment to the game in previous years hasn't gone down well. But like you Raahh I've moved from disliking him to liking him a lot. I'm not sure what he's done to bring about that change.

I hope I can watch the Tsonga-Djokovic match. I can enjoy tennis so much better when I am not emotionally involved.
