How does being a linesman work I wonder? I know the umpires are full time and travel the world to the various tournaments but I'm guessing the linesmen are local and possibly members of the club at which the tournament is held? Do they get paid? Do they have to take annual leave?

I'd love to know that about the linespeople as well, Juan. I'm sure in the past when I had more time to watch tennis I would occastionally spot a few I recognised, so to speak. I remember seeing that lineswoman who famously got abused by Serena Williams at a different tournament later on, so maybe some of them do travel a bit?
