Saw a trailer late last night saying this is back for series 3 on bbc4 in a few weeks.

I nearly did a little dance round the house Blush May have to cut back on Saturday night Wine to concentrate on the subtitles ......

Back on the 17th I think.
I did squeal with excitement when I saw the advert!

Bunbaker · 11/05/2014 00:54

Brilliant.

Which Swedish one? There were two different ones.

ouryve · 11/05/2014 00:56

Eeeee!

CrazyDesire · 11/05/2014 08:36

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03jnm98

I don't know if the link will work (on my phone).
It's the one with Krister Henriksson.

Bunbaker · 11/05/2014 09:17

Oh, that's absolutely brilliant. I thought he was the best Wallander. I see they have replaced Linda.

slartybartfast · 11/05/2014 09:19

oh goodie

colleysmill · 11/05/2014 09:54

Oooh I don't know how I feel about a new Linda, such a tragic story about the original actress who played her.

But I love this show, I only initially watched it because the paper which we took at the time raved about it.

The books are good too.

I love the books too. I'm not sure about a new Linda, still brings a tear to my eye when I think about the start of the second series and the look on Wallander's face when asked about children.

colleysmill · 11/05/2014 18:35

From what I've read on the internet Mankell was involved in writing episodes specifically for the tv series and he and Henriksson were deeply affected by Johanna Sallstrom' s death ( at one point I think they both said that series 2 would never happen)

I can't imagine what she went through :( awful just awful

Very, very excited and I love the books too Desire. Currently reading one of his non-Wallander books.

marssparklesdownonme · 13/05/2014 15:56

Ohh I can't wait! Krister Henriksson is my favourite Wallander. You've just made my day coleysmill

Bunbaker · 13/05/2014 17:08

I have set the recorder. I can't wait.

dottyaboutstripes · 13/05/2014 18:04

I've just nearly peed my pants in excitement at this news Smile

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/05/2014 21:22

Grin at dotty. Have you got a plan for Saturday? Can I suggest no fluids after 6pm, a big wee just before 9pm and Tena at the ready? Smile

getdownshep · 13/05/2014 21:58

Brilliant news, I thought this was just a repeat of the earlier episodes.
Wallander is what got me into scandi dramas but it has to be Krister not that
Rolf Lassgard.

colleysmill · 15/06/2014 00:27

So a few episodes in and whilst it's still as fantastic as the previous series I'm feeling a bit :( as its hitting a bit close to home

How's everyone else finding it?

OP posts:
TheFarSide · 15/06/2014 00:30

Finding it very sad ... he's too young to be experiencing that (although I know it happens).

ouryve · 15/06/2014 00:31

I got something in my eye at the end of today's.

diddl · 15/06/2014 09:22

It's rather excellent, isn't it?

The one where he looked at the back of his wardrobe at the photosSad

iwantavuvezela · 15/06/2014 09:24

Loving it as well, but had a tear as well as the episode ended.

CrazyDesire · 17/06/2014 00:21

I was in tears at the end of the latest episode too.
I can't belive next Saturday's will be the last. I've enjoyed these more than the second series.

diddl · 17/06/2014 07:02

Yes the series with the two new cops, wasn't that the second one?

I didn't really like that.

Were they just "made for tv"?

It's terribly sad & so well done.

Feel so awful for all of them.

fussychica · 17/06/2014 21:11

It was my intro to Scandi drama so will always be a bit special. Finding this final season really good but oh so sad.

diddl · 18/06/2014 07:14

It's so fab that I can't see why Kenneth Branagh bothered himself to make it.

I suppose for those who won't read subtitles?

But his version was (imo) ludicrous.

Cooroo · 18/06/2014 08:25

I'm finding this series excellent as usual but profoundly depressing. Fantastic performance from Wallander actor, understated and poignant.
