The Trip....it's just a bit sexist isn't it?

I liked the first one. And I liked parts of this series so far...BUT this and the previous episode made me uncomfortable and then I got to thinking.

Any woman who appears is just bit part ( yes I do realise its about two men on a trip together), but it's more than that. The women are just required to sit and giggle and admire the 'wit' and impersonations of the two men, or to be denigrated (about one of the female crew on the boat - "just a Sloane, ten a penny back in Kensington" ) OR then just there to be ogled at (the assistant in the Hotel) or to have sex with.

This casual sexism - it's not acceptable really

Agree - the last episode gave me that feeling too, although I wondered if I was over-thinking it or it was deliberately meant to show the two men up. I'm still not sure.

Glad it wasn't just me!

I agree although it seems to be part of the way they're sending themselves up - old geezers who still want to be able to pull the totty. That said, you're right the women are essentially just walk on parts.
