Blizzard - Race to the Pole

Has anyone been watching this? I must have missed something at the start, because I've only just discovered (following immense confusion about what the hell Air Iceland was doing flying to Antarctica) that the whole race was actually staged in GREENLAND, and they weren't actually looking for the pole, just a compass point!
Enjoyed the whole thing, but feel a bit duped now.......!!!

Sorry, but they showed a map of Greenland and did the spiel about why they weren't in Antarctica at the start of every, or virtually every programme!
(Maybe you always missed the beginning?)

We were fascinated by this series btw. We missed just one episode.

I thought Chris Bonnington was a bit hard on Scott last night.

Doh - yes, always missed the first few minutes (clearing up after supper between The Bill and Blizzard!)
Also thought it was a bit harsh last night when they said that if Oates had left a week earlier they'd all have survived.
And how gross was it seeing them take a dump in the middle of the tent......urgh (now that's going to get non-watchers visualising something totally different to what happened, but hey!).
And what about the size of the tattoo on Bruce's bum at the end.....
Fascinating stuff though.....

I thought Ranulf Feinnes [sp?] came across very well as a commentator, and also that doctor chappie, who goes on some expeditions with him.

The Norwegians were very impressive. I didn't think they got sufficient credit for their achievements in the programme: they were so fast and worked so well together.

I want to go and read some of the books now.
