Anyone watching tonight - what do we think?
The bit with Urshula at the job interview made me very uncomfortable :/ there was an edge to the both of them but the large man was the one yelling and throwing sweets at a small, younger woman. A bit awkward.

I'm watching. It's quite uncomfortable viewing tonight.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/04/2014 21:46

Why is that team manager not coaching them ? Furious.

Llareggub · 08/04/2014 21:46

Is this the Swansea one again?

If so I saw Nev in a book shop at Christmas signing his book. He was very put out that the customers were steadfastly ignoring him and in the end he tried to engage my 7 and 4 year old in conversation. My boys were very unimpressed and stared at him with a bemused look on their faces.

He and his girlfriend were wearing more conspicuous labels between them than I have ever seen.

I see his point about giving that young lad with a stutter a chance but I thought the way he treated Urshula was bad. Even though she came off rude, I just think she was trying to be 'confident' and give as good as she got, and it just came out wrong. No need to throw stuff at her. There was such an odd edge to his voice when he was talking to her.
I do still think that there's a teacher out there in Swansea, still having nightmares about Hayley the tea lady :)

Had to turn it off, show-off embarrassing behaviour by too many people made me feel uncomfortable. It was not at all entertaining.

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 10/04/2014 00:09

I really like it
v v true of some places I have worked

Anotheronebitthedust · 10/04/2014 22:19

KenDoddsDadsDog, if you mean when they had their first day on the phones, they would have had several days/even weeks training before then, not just chucked on the phones straight after their interview.

Also they only showed about 2 minutes of an 8 hour shift ffs. She looked like she was helping them as much as she could seeing as there was one of her and 12 of them. Obviously it makes better TV to see them thrown in the deep end, rather than carefully coached and helped, but it's just editing. They do actually want to make sales, that's the whole point of the business!

Agree this week felt awkward and a bit nasty compared to others. The HR woman was just rolling her eyes and sighing at Ned where she should have said "No! You can't make fun of someone's stutter like that." They all pander to him so much, feeding his ego even more, but they distinctly said on this episode that he was only one of the directors, not the 'Big Boss' as he makes out.

Redtartanshoes · 10/04/2014 22:24

Can I ask a really around question?

Is it real or spoofed?Blush

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/04/2014 22:41

Erm , I run a 300 seat contact centre so I'm well aware how it works. Looked very unprofessional , especially a dress so tight you could see her breakfast.

invicta · 12/04/2014 05:54

I couldn't believe Nev was getting away with some of those questions in the interview with the lad with the stutter, but good for him for giving him a job.

Anotheronebitthedust · 12/04/2014 21:28

Ken Dodd - So if you run a 300 seat call centre, and someone showed two minutes of your day, (chosen and edited by them) you would be happy to say that was a fair representation of your whole job?

And compared to Nev, who was happy to take his top off completely, and most of the other staff, who were in jeans/hoodies, is a slightly tight dress really such an issue? Do you know this woman or something? If not, why are you so being so horrible and judgy about a complete stranger?

Invicta - hmm, yes, but it'll be interesting to see if he keeps the job, or chucks him if he doesn't make his targets, which could be worse for his self esteem than never getting the job in the first place.

Llareggub · 12/04/2014 21:59

It's real. I know people who have worked there. They soon left for somewhere better.

GiddyUpCowboy · 12/04/2014 22:02

It is apparently real, I didn't realise it was back on again.

FruitbatAuntie · 12/04/2014 22:15

I didn't realise it was real. I thought it was a very funny observation that was very true to similar places I have worked at, but was just that bit OTT to be true!
