tracy beaker - please reassure me it isnt responsible for dd (7)s bad behaviour...

Anyhow, dd1 has just turned 7 and is becoming stroppier and lippier by the day. She talks to me in a really snotty, teenagey kind of way - it drives me mad. I get frequent comments from her about how much I hate her and how shes going to run away, that kind of thing.
I told her off today for the millionth time and she said that its because of how they talk on Tracy Beaker - a programme she is obsessed with at the moment. Is it? I know I should sit down and watch it with her but...

It might be, its cringeworthy the way they talk to the adults on the programme and if you do watch it with her you will never let her watch it again!

okeydokey, I am gearing myself up for the mother of all arguments now. She will combust with anger if I withdraw the Right to Watch Tracy Beaker.

Recently my neighbours 9yo was banned from watching as her attitude took a nose dive amd the words and phrases were directly from the Beaker! I would say ot could very well be responsible My dds watch it with no discernable effect - yet! I am certain I will get one or two lines back later though! I pre-read all the books etc before I will allow them to read them -just so I know what is likely to come - and I have removed some of teh worse books!

I'm quite thrilled actually at the thought of getting down to the bottom of this bloomin' attitude problem she's got.

Hmm, tbh, I don't reacall all teh titles, I think the Story of TB was fairly ok....

I will ahve a look on the bookshelves in a second!
