No word for the last two weeks. Overrated? The next one will have two female detectives.

I'm still watching! Caught up last night and have been obsessing all morning. Do you have any idea what's going on?!

WowOoo · 31/03/2014 13:02

I still love it.

I had to read something from Rolling Stone magazine online to give me a bit of help understanding the story so far. Just in case I'd missed anything.

I liked M Mc's bum in Sat's episode.

FunkyBoldRibena · 31/03/2014 13:08

We are one episode behind as we were ill - saw last week's last night and will watch Saturday's tonight.

LarryAdler · 31/03/2014 13:37

I am really thinking about watching them all again.

noddyholder · 31/03/2014 15:55

I finished it last week its fantastic!

CrimeaRiver · 31/03/2014 16:08

Seen them all, won't spoil it for you. Worth sticking with Smile

Any idea who will play the female detectives in the next series?

worriedsick100 · 31/03/2014 18:51

I think it is superb. MM fantastic and did not realise Woody was such a good actor too. How have you seen it all already?

Lighthousekeeping · 03/04/2014 23:34

I didn't like woody's wife this week.

We are a couple of episodes behind (am usually knackered by 9pm weekdays so wait till weekend evenings so I am alert enough to follow it!)

We love it.

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 04/04/2014 12:50

I'm still loving it. Caught up to the end of ep 6 this afternoon on demand. I have to watch it on my on my own though. DP doesn't like anything that requires too much thinking while you're watching (hence his Emmerdale addiction).

AMumInScotland · 04/04/2014 12:59

Still watching, still enjoying. Probably an episode or two behind at the moment...

I wouldn't say 'overrated' but it is yet another show about male white middle-aged detectives and dead, naked, raped young women. Stylish and weird, but not really 'alternative' in the subject-matter for all it's determined to be 'edgy'.

Tiredemma · 04/04/2014 17:48

I missed episode 5 so now I dont ahve a clue what is going on

fairycakecentral · 04/04/2014 18:37

I.m still watching it to see how it concludes, but i am a bit bored by it. It is so well acted and scripted but I have no love for either Marty or Cohle and the wife's nonsense with Cohle really put me off. It started off so promising and mysterious too.

Lighthousekeeping · 04/04/2014 18:45

I'm looking forward to when it's two women, it's two actors that I like but I can't remember their names. The journo from house of cards and your one from Damages and Bridesmaids if that helps!

worriedsick100 · 14/04/2014 10:06

Well what did you think of the ending then? Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 14/04/2014 13:04

Oh thanks for reminding me! I'm going to indulge myself now and sit in all afternoon and drink tea and watch it.

whatadrama · 14/04/2014 13:10

I thought the story involving the murders was very confusing but i followed the personal side to it really well and enjoyed that part more than the other Confused

Woody and MM are both fantastic actors so watching the dynamics between the 2 of them was well worth the 8 hours viewing but i'm not sure if their personal lives and families were supposed to be far more interesting than the rest of it!

LaurieFairyCake · 14/04/2014 13:14

Loved it, one of the best things ever.

Totally amazing acting, probably the best vehicles for them - just really convincing performances.

MrFranklyShankly · 14/04/2014 17:55

I have to say I have loved this, thought it was really interesting, slow and dark, just what I love with dectective shows but was really disappointed with the last episode. It felt so cliched, from lining up who the killer was going to be, to the way they let Marty be the one to find the key clue (green ears from painting the house in 1995???) to their relationship turning into this sort of bromance, and Rustys character really disappointed me, all of a sudden he wants to know how Marty's doing sitting drinking beers having heart to hearts! I just felt it was rushed and became the show it was doing so well avoiding....pity because the acting and setting really had me reeled in from the start. And of course they didn't get them all so 2nd series must be on the cards.

Lighthousekeeping · 14/04/2014 18:21

The second series is a completely different story and they won't be in it.

I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. They were great and the cinematography was outstanding but the last episode let me down. The case was so confusing I still haven't a clue what was going on. Was the dad dead or alive in the shed? Remember that game the daughter was playing with the models? What was the significance of that? I must admit, I found the accent really hard. My telly was on full volume all the way through. It was abit far fetched the way rust survived that injury. I'm glad he did though but, is he?

Sandancer · 14/04/2014 21:05

I absolutely loved this show but was also left a bit disappointed by the last episode. It was really far fetched. When Rust was stabbed it was broad daylight - when the cops arrived it was pitch black; surely he would have bled out by then?
I also thought the daughters were somehow involved after the rude drawings and models but nothing was mentioned.
And how Marty made that connection with that house paint? Hmm.. It would have made more sense for the green ears to be ear defenders used by maintenance workers.
I watched the whole thing with subtitles and even then I found the family names and connections confusing.
At least I have a new found love of MM...

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 16/04/2014 22:36

Just watched the last episode this evening and although it doesn't pass the Bechdel Test I really enjoyed it.
Beautifully shot, great acting from both leads and a slower, more cerebral pace.
Disappointed that neither of them were killed off at the end. I didn't feel like it was supposed to have a happy ending.

PoirotsMoustache · 17/04/2014 10:06

I was really disappointed by the last episode. It didn't really explain much and left quite a few questions unanswered. Sad I was hooked from the beginning of the series though, every other episode was excellent.
