yes mousmous had been looking forward to this and it was really good like a combination of Borgen and The Killing, very intriguing plot and very stylish. loved the language, you are right it has a completely different sound, but relieved to hear 'tak' every so often. Scandinavia drama - you can't beat it, but better on bbc so you can stay focused, so
recorded it on set top box so can whizz through the adverts.
really good stuff.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/03/2014 12:53

Ive recorded this to watch this evening - I can ff the ads! Grin

DustBunnyFarmer · 30/03/2014 18:13

Same here. Am looking forwards to it. Will the knitwear disappoint or meet my expectations?

mousmous · 30/03/2014 18:40

I didn't see any knitwear :(

I must admit I am hooked on this, really intriguing story and love the language and atmosphere.....the knitwear got a special mention in the Sunday papers today!!

UseHerName · 07/04/2014 22:21

this actualy has a really engrossing plot

also loving the visibly pregnant, working woman continuing as normal in this

mousmous · 12/04/2014 22:34

episode 3 and it is gripping.
might have to sleep with the lights on, bat under bed and doors battened down.
pretty good stuff

I'm gripped too, did anyone see the guy right at the end, is it the same one as the second series of the killing (the minister of justice)?

mousmous · 25/04/2014 23:03

I don't think so.

very good characters.

I'm wondering about the intro now, you know the little boys in ghe wood...

OP posts:
mousmous · 25/04/2014 23:24

and I'm really starting to like the women, esp vibeke.

guineapiglet · 26/04/2014 09:36

I am amazed this hasn't been more popular really, such good writing and brilliant plot... must be the lack of a Sarah Lund/Saga figure? although Vibeke was very Lisbeth Salander in a way...I am gripped by it. I think the boys in the wood flashback is very significant, especially as Peter saw it yesterday when he was escaping.... it is very dark and very clever. I really love Inger Maria, the journalist, And I think all the characters haven been well drawn.

Deathraystare · 26/04/2014 10:57

It is different to Swedish and Danish. I think they can understand a bit of each other. I remember a film where a police office went from Norway to sweden or vice versa and went to a school to ask pupils questions. Most understood but some complained they could not understand him. I think it might have been more like a scottish person and an english person saying they don't understand each other's accents - there is a bit of old history between them (just like the scots and the english) so it might be more than.

I have never seen this what side is it on and what day please?? Hate to miss out on a scandi fix!!!

JustPassingThru · 26/04/2014 19:54

Deathray, it's on More4 on Fridays at 9pm.

Norwegians & Danes get by better than Norwegians and Swedes, I gather. However, Swedes from the southern region (Skane) and the Danes understand each other really well. In The Bridge, the Danes spoke Danish and the Swedes spoke in the Skane dialect and they would understand each other in real life. The person who told me all this in a native English speaker who lives in the Skane region and understood the Swedish in The Bridge but not all of the Danish.

Sorry for hijacking the thread!

DH who is a preacher's son, says that in the story of Abraham, the sacrifice of the son is stopped and a lamb appears which is then sacrificed. Vibeke wears a weird sheep necklace all the time.

mousmous · 26/04/2014 22:04

just caught up on last night's episode.
it's nearly unbearably painful to watch.
poor peter.
