Please take your seats for the coach departure. We will be leaving shortly. Toilets are located to the rear of the vehicle and there will be snacks available to purchase at a 7,000,000% mark up. All chickens must be refrained from wandering freely and causing H&S issues.

Wenches must also refrain from smoking cigars post copulation.

Phew drink, hopefully you'll be able to keep up if not post much. Imagine the amount of drivel reading you'd have when you got back!

HercShipwright · 21/03/2014 18:17

I'm not a plant! :) As for the musketeers. I think I like Porthos the best. Is that OK? But of all the people who have been in it, my heart belongs most to James Callis (until Sean Pertwee rocks up obviously - I think that's this week, right?)

MavisGrind · 21/03/2014 18:19

Having a conversation with a friend earlier:

Wench: "...Mind you, they're growing up so fast now....I really like it now their older"
Friend: "Oh, I so miss them being little"
Wench: "Oh god, I don't miss it at all

I sooo belong here. One for all and all for Wench!

TwitMcAwesome · 21/03/2014 18:21

*Oh I how laugh at all the parenting discussions in these threads because we all seem to be as one! This is true sisterhood. Oh I feel normal...so NORMAL! Kicking and screaming child under arm and feeling no empty nest syndrome when brats start education and other parents are falling over theirselves in mourning!

The other hilaaaaaarious thing that I also get asked "oh when DS2 starts you can have another one" NO! Never ever ever ever. My desire to reproduce again has definitely gone for good and oh! I am so looking forward to regaining some IDENTITY of my own again.*

^^ this. All of it.

LetUsPrey · 21/03/2014 18:22

I've done the carrying screaming child under my arm out of a supermarket. DS2 was a bolter and had promised not to run off. After the third time, I picked him up, left the basket with customer services and went out for a trolley. Didn't fluster or phase me. The woman who tutted at screaming DS2 in his trolley at the cheese counter got one of my most evil stares and a "Yes?"

Stinklebell · 21/03/2014 18:25

No empty nest syndrome here either. A few of my friends were at the school gates sobbing...and they all thought I was the mad one

I mean, I love them to bits and all that, but I also love the few hours a day to myself

I did have a wobble when the biggun went to high school

MavisGrind · 21/03/2014 18:26

Ok, chips in oven wine open Episode one is go!

Sparklegeek · 21/03/2014 18:30

Mine are past the hard work stage Grin

Hence why I can spend so much time doing highly inappropriate things on here.

What is very depressing though is that that probably makes me the oldest on here Sad

But hey! My boobs would still rock a corset & I'm having a fringe cut in next week so then I'll be 10 years younger still way older than d'Art

TwitMcAwesome · 21/03/2014 18:31

Although I quite like it when they are about 4-6 months. You know, feeding is easy, they smile and make noises. They nap in the day and They Don't Fucking Move.
After that time, all bets are off until 6-8 years old. Then, they go to high school and they Fucking Hate You.
It used to bother me that there was something wrong with me that I didn't tear up the first year of reception, school performances etc. I used it think because I made them do chores and limited playstation time I was a horrible parent.
Now though, I don't give a shiny shit what these people with their Precious Darlings think. My kids are ace, independent and funny. I know that in a bizarre emergency situation they could and would all take care of each other if need be.

Sparklegeek · 21/03/2014 18:31

Mavis I'm about 45 mins into Ep 1 so let me know where you get up to. Our curly fries & pizza are in oven but I have no drink open???? Why is this?

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 21/03/2014 18:33

Herc, Porthos isn't overly busy but I do visit him daily occasionally.

We might fall out over the Pertwee though so let's not mention it just yet...

I was telling mine off the other day for bolting through the car park in a VERY busy supermarket that has a fucking ridiculously dangerous car park because they clearly hate children as much as I do Anyway, some random man decided to pass comment when I shouted at them to never run off like that again and so I'm afraid I proudly gave him the two fingered salute...the cheeky interfering car park wanker.

Having said all that I do wish DH would just take them all the fuck out for a day more often.

MavisGrind · 21/03/2014 18:35

Amateur Sparkle It's currently Aramis avec Adele. Yep, too classically handsome.

LetUsPrey · 21/03/2014 18:38

I liked the age when they were old enough to entertain themselves with toys for a bit, but not old enough to grass you up for being on the pc and looking at stuff.

I did tear up at DS2's Christmas play but that's because he's had speech delay and lots of speech therapy and other associated socialisation issues, and he had a proper speaking part with loads of lines and he did it all brilliantly well.

I did love my day in the week when they were both at school before I went back to work more or less full time.

Sparklegeek · 21/03/2014 18:38

That'll be me then Mavis. Ta very much

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 21/03/2014 18:40

Twit, my 8 year old already behaves like a teenager. Mega strops! And of course his brother and sister copy him. Angry

He has this little friend at school who is such a bad influence. He's not nasty or anything but he's extremely silly and distracts him from his work and gets him into trouble in class. He's been on holiday and I actually got a letter back from his teacher to tell me how amazing his behaviour has been in class! He's been getting full marks in every subject and really paying attention.

Back to normal next week when his chum returns then.

Any time mine tried tantrumming by dropping to the floor and wailing, I'd just stand over them and look at something else (my phone,,a bird, whatever)
The amount of looks I got Shock some were 'you can't let him/her do that, it's cruel, you don't even care' and some were 'you shouldn't let him/her do that, you don't even care'
Wtf else can!you do with a heavy, screaming planking, fighty two year old?

HannahHorvath · 21/03/2014 18:42

Well I'm starting to worry. Maybe I don't belong here after all? Is it because I only have one? and haven't got over not having a second one yet That is not to say I loved every bit of it. And in my defence, dd is 8 so it's a while since I've had to deal with the shitey parts. And I am glad when it's term time, hell I have a mini party every morning when school starts. Does that count?

I can't join in tonight either for the synchronised viewing. But I do have Sunday to myself so I'll be watching then... is that enough?.... can I still join in....?

Ah feck yis. Feck all of yis. I've never belonged anywhere. Why should now be any different.

TwitMcAwesome · 21/03/2014 18:47

Yeah, 6-8 = nice, 8-10/11 pain in the arse know it alls. You might get a couple of years off around year six/seven before teenager kicks in full time.
However, 8 plus they can do stuff for themselves, and you don't have to read with them Blush
Well dd I do cos she's got problems wrt reading and writing, but you know?
letusprey that's amazing of your son, I would have teared up a bit too. Smile

TwitMcAwesome · 21/03/2014 18:51

Why do you say you don't belong here? Please don't be sad...
I feel bad now...

TwitMcAwesome · 21/03/2014 18:52

Oh, and FYI, Porthos is extremely busy. With me, remember?

HannahHorvath · 21/03/2014 18:54

When I say worry. I mean about being the only one who would contemplate having another?

Although, if the MuskeWenching takes off.... I'm willing to adjust things.

Mine is already having flashes of teenage moods. She's like a schizophrenic. One minute she's all sweet and cute and looks like a big version of my baby, when she's sleeping. And then she morphs into this little gobshite who quite clearly thinks we were born in the Stone Age, and have made it our duty in life to deprive her of fun and freedom 24/7.

MavisGrind · 21/03/2014 18:56

Don't worry Hannah, you'll have your little baby Porthos soon enough.

HannahHorvath · 21/03/2014 18:58

Oh and let's not forget I'm slightly lacking on the whole man/sperm front.

Have no fear though I'm not going anywhere. Belong or not. Do you seriously think I would give up my dibs on Athos, or any of them?....?

Hah! There's only one thing I like more than my daughter. And that's The Musketeers! --but not by much>

HannahHorvath · 21/03/2014 18:59

but not by much EPIC FUCKING FAIL
