Nice idea for a thread!

There's the classic from Millionaire -

"Which word specifically links a kind of mammal with an archbishop or high-ranking bishop? a) Carnivore; b) Rodent; c) Primate; d) Marsupial. "

She'd already struggled over the first few 'easy' questions. then decided that the correct answer here would be The Marsupial of Canterbury!

Thought of another one -

Pointless - "Assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas". Contestant gave the answer as "JR"

And I'm sure there were loads more off there which I'll have to think about.

There's a famous clip from a quiz show where the question is "Who wrote the Water Music? You'll be sure to know his handle". The contestants were completely stumped; at one point one of them said "I keep thinking of Handel's Water Music", the compere said encouragingly "Yes, yes?" but he then said "Bach". The compere turned to the other couple and repeated the question, placing even more emphasis on "handle", but they looked equally mystified, eventually coming up with something like Mozart. Red faces all round when the correct answer was revealed.

Contestant is stumped

'Think of my name', encourages the host, Larry

Contestant, enlightened 'Oh - A pig in shit!'
