Beety, each week the public vote for which 'girl' and which 'boy' they want to go in the love shack (that's the public that are daft enough to spend their money on such crap) and those 2 go in the love shack for a couple of days. It's very luxurious in there and, yes, I think the idea is that they 'get to know each other better'.
Those remaining in 'the resort' pair up - it changes each week as to how they are paired. Sometimes, if there is an odd number, one person chooses. Last week, Bianca and Calum (in the love shack) paired them. Sometimes the girls pick the boys and vice versa.
The couples mean very little as they can obviously talk to whoever they like but they do the 'daily decider' in couples - this is a sort of challenge or quiz and the winning couple normally get a 'treat' - like a day out in Fiji or a romantic dinner or something.
Every Sunday night, a celebrity is voted off (by those daft Joe public that actually ring up - eejits). It seems as though every Monday a new celeb goes in - sometimes they are permanent and sometimes they only stay a few days to a week. I'm pretty sure that this week Victoria Hervey is going back in (having been voted off earlier) - this is because she had a 'thing' with Chris and now Victoria has gone, Sophie (eeek) has moved in on him. Pistols and dawn I think.
Basically, it's a load of crap but it's mindless entertainment and Patrick Kielty (sp?) is hilarious as the presenter. I just settle down to it at 10pm with a glass of wine and a cornetto to slag off the so-called 'celebrities'.
