dh is still not back- which is odd, as he has to go out again in a bit to get the other 2! (I can't drive his car- I've driven an automatic for 8 years. Plus, i can't reach the pedals in his!)

We're off to Alton towers tomorrow as DD1's school are striking too.

I wasn't sure what was going on with the whole piano tuner storyline- and thought the pianist was very sinister looking.

Dh has a new 'spot the...' He's playing guess the season and guess the time of day. He got very excited yes he needs to get a life about spotting light through the pub curtains.

Yes, the teachers strike will mean no Doctors for me today.

Mine aren't affected by the strikes, so I will only have to convince dd2 that Doctors is superior to Mr Tumble.

I wonder if Al will be like that woman off Casualty years back- she was a receptionist? Rebecca something? She released a single, (after a dubious episode where she sang at someone's wedding or something) had a bit of a hit, lost loads of weight and appeared on things like 'Loose Women' a lot. That could be Al.

No strike here so I will be watching. I haven't seen it or read the thread since about last Thursday though (last I saw was Chris lying unconscious in a garage after fight club). Anyone got 5 mins to update me please?

Ok, quick update for you:

Chris got home, winces a lot, 6tl trying to be maternal and made him some sandwiches. Aunt Ag came and had lunch with the Gobbyplods. Gobby realised Aunt Ag hated her. Aunt Ag referred to Gobby's eternity ring and the "bad patch" that preceded Plod buying it. Gobby made Plod tell her about it, and he finally told her about the abortion. She is now very angry with him and had a flashback to a memory of him shouting at her. Plod says he is giving up on them and walked away - all very sad. Daniel is back and bought Zara a beautiful diamond "eternity bracelet". Barry was back and brilliant, dealing with some graffiti when the Vice Chancellor was visiting the Campus Surgery. But the most important thing to tell you is that Mrs T has a lovely new wig, a curly up-do, reminiscent of her portrayal of Miss Smiley in GIMP.

GIMP? Thank you, I will be able to watch and understand now (well as much as usual!). Will be on wig-watch.

GIMP = Grandpa In My Pocket, a show on Cbeebies where Mrs T plays Miss Smiley.

Although despite always thinking of Miss Smiley as having curly hair, I can only find pictures of her with straight hair.

Ah, I remember when that first started. The little Grandpa totally freaked DD out so we never watched it, we were coming to the end of our CBeebies days by then anyway . I kind of miss all that stuff.

I like grandpa in my pocket, although I noticed the other day the grandson has changed! I don't watch it very often so don't know how long it has been. I also love how his wife is in it too, keep them both going into retirement :)

Yes, I think Jason Mason grew up so had to be replaced. And much as I have longed for the day that Jason Mason disappeared, he has been replaced by not one but two smugger than smug children.

If they got rid of the children I would like the programme more. Although I do have problems with Grandpa's real-life wife playing his sister.
