I'm just rewatching this on Netflix and I think it was actually rather good, loads better than Downton.

I'm quite sad that it failed as it was packed with good characters and seemed a lot more thoughtful than downton. It looked absolutely gorgeous too which always helps.

Anyway, that's it, as you were. Grin

I thought you were talking about the original Upstairs Downstairs. I loved that. Much better than Downton ( which can be so predictable)

I love the original too hollyisalovelyname, I've rewatched it a couple of times over the years and it was a joy.

This was a new series which aired 2012 I think.

I just watched that this week too and enjoyed it much more than Downton too. I wish it had carried on.

I just thought it was really well executed with a fabulous cast. Such a shame that there won't be any more series, I would have loved to see how it panned out.

I used to really enjoy Upstairs Downstairs and could never understand why it was cancelled.I think it was aired around the same times as Downton so maybe it didn't get viewing figures but it was far superior.
Maybe if enough people watch it on Netflix it might return .

You're right, it aired at the same time which was a mistake. I just loved the era in which it was set and all the characters were just so much better, not caricatures which they tended towards in Downton.

Just a massive shame really, oh well.
