What is it about Call The bloody Midwife that has me in tears every week?

It's not particularly heart wrenching or terribly tragic, yes it's quite sad and difficult sometimes, but my god. I can't sit through an episode without welling up.

Is it me or does it have this effect on anyone else?

Oh I love Chummy so much and would love a night out with Trixie.

I find Sr Bernadette a bit wishy washy now.

I gave up on it (I really disliked the books too), but adopted it again as an 'ironing' programme.

I think it's emotionally manipulative You can see it coming, but sometimes it's so bloody harrowing it can be upsetting.

This week's episode was the first one where I didn't cry. Usually I'm sobbing out loud by the voice-over.

Who is the plank of wood nun who went on to marry the Doctor? She ruins it for me week after week with her breathy voice! Absolutely love Call the midwife, but she is no good as a non-nun!
