You're biased

Bugsy2 · 02/08/2006 09:36

I love this programme. It is just amazing watching these saps with no future learn how to respect themselves and those around them. I'd be fascinated to see an ongoing study of the men/boys who have taken part in Bad Lads Army to see if a significant proportion of them have changed their lives after the programme ends.
I have no military connection either - so not biaised!!

TinyGang · 02/08/2006 09:43

It's great isn't it? I loved the pep talk that officer gave when they were running. They remember to give praise as well as those amazing un-pc put downs.

The chap with the trench foot in barracks.. Dry your feet properly!!

Seems to be the first time anyone has given some of them any parameters. I love the way so many eventually rise to it all positively.

Gobbledigook · 02/08/2006 09:47

Bugsy, no military connection here either. COnnection wtih programme makers

Bugsy2 · 02/08/2006 09:52

Gobbledigook, do you get to go on location or on set or whatever they call it?!!!

southeastastra · 02/08/2006 10:31

is this about national service? my dad loved doing that. if it moves salute it, if it doesn't paint it green

Joolstoo · 02/08/2006 10:39

Lol! southeastastra

Bugsy - nooooo, I don't work on it but someone we know is a director on it.

SpaceCadet · 02/08/2006 11:13

ive watched every single series and think its great, they should bring back national service for young offenders imo.

MrsBadger · 02/08/2006 11:16

well, do pass on the fact that both DH and I love it, in a trashy-tv way, and actually cheered when we saw Cpl Nauyokas had come back for this series.

Don't particularly like they way it glamourises their past misdeeds though - all those staged car chases, violence etc.

Gobbledigook · 02/08/2006 11:17

I've not really watched it. She said it was a nightmare to work on - both the 'lads' and the military were, um, hard to communicate with

She's back on 'The Apprentice' in a couple of weeks!

TinyGang · 02/08/2006 11:24

Some of those corporals seem to have hardly any speaking voice left. Must be all the shouting.

TambaIsBadBadBad · 02/08/2006 11:37

I love this programme.

They should do a girls version
