Panorama - I want my baby back

Anyone watching?

This promoting of the idea that SS want to steal babies makes me very uneasy...

OP posts:
nennypops · 14/01/2014 12:28

Hmmm, failure to respond properly to direct questions about evidence is looking strangely familiar.

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 12:30

oh look - I am not anyone you have spoken to before. I have never been on these boards before. Yes, a lot of the court details are known because the parents publish them online or send them to those who ask for them

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:32

I am aware they exist Wizard, but I think you have decided to ignore most of my post in favour of the fact I still believe they are a minority, not majority. You apparently have the figures and facts to PROVE this to me, so go ahead, please.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/01/2014 12:34

why are you not getting this. adoptive or birth parents arent what matters, its THE CHILD who matters

OP posts:
Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:35

What you should be asking is what we do for the children Wizard, not the parents. It is all about the children, who judging from your posts so far, you barely seem to think of.
How do you propose the SS get a suitable buffer to protect against all of this suing then? Or shall we just wait until they are completely crumbled from it? Please do suggest some solutions yourself!

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:37

X post beyond
I think we all know the only person who evades specific questions, has no evidence and does't think of the kids in this argument... No one else seems to be quite so determined not to think of the whole picture.

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 12:45

Honestly, you really dont know me. I perfectly accept that the child is the centre of the issue.

So how do you say sorry to parents wronged? No honest ideas?

Sneezecakesmum · 14/01/2014 12:51

I think the emphasis on social workers and forced adoption is missing the point. If there is poor expert testimony and more importantly uncontested medical testimony these cases of innocent parents will continue.

The social workers have no choice at their point of contact with these families but to remove.

The adoptive families are guilty of nothing.

The point of no return is in between these episodes and that is where we have to start fighting to get it right.

Fractures don't appear without a reason. If that reason is unexplainable despite extensive testing and further research (which is needed now!) then the child must be removed.

What's going wrong today is there is no in depth testing happening and a blind reliance on blinkered 'experts'.

nennypops · 14/01/2014 12:53

Can you produce evidence of the many people wronged? You say it is online, no doubt you can provide links? And when you say that parents in this position provide the evidence against them, do they invariably provide all of it?

nennypops · 14/01/2014 12:54

wizardpc, if you have really never been on mumsnet before, what has led you here today? Did anyone suggest it to you? If so who?

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:56

So how do you say sorry to parents wronged?
STILL MISSING THE POINT HERE ^

I think we do know you, or your employer at least

Any advance on these figures yet? It's been a decade or so...

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:58

Honestly, this completely reminds me of those threads where the parent is using the child to get back at the ex. No thought to the child whatsoever, all about manipulation to make the parent look good.

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 12:59

oh good grief - you really dont know me. I have no financial interest in anything in these issues

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 12:59

Out of interest, did JH ever apologise to the man he mistakenly 'outed' as a paedophile? Perhaps he could sue for compensation too. How does £1mil sound to everyone?

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 13:00

So it's purely egotistical then, your interest?

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 13:07

It as interest (yes) - for a reason - but not work or financial. How much do pop stars get when papers print stuff that's incorrect? And that's just words.

Perhaps parents should have recourse to sue? After all, it's a court that ultimately makes the decision - should that court not be accountable? What happens if you're sent to prison wrongly or on false/wrong evidence? Or even as a result of perjury?

nennypops · 14/01/2014 13:11

Tell you what, wizard, there is at least one very rich person who supports your stance. Why don't you suggest to him that he finances a court action?

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 13:12

you'll have to enlighten me. Who's that?

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 13:14

Well, you could sue the lawyers, the courts, the doctors AND SS!
How rich you would be!
Heck you could have as many babies as you liked then and just show everyone what a damn good parent you are instead.
I don't think you are really getting the point.
The papers being sued is indeed a mystery, when JH can do it and get away without any slap on the wrists. I take it you are not sure if he was sued by the poor man he falsely accused in the press?
In that case I think press should be able to directly link to source and explain where they got their FALSE facts from.

nennypops · 14/01/2014 13:14

You clearly know who he is, particularly if you were watching Panorama last night and saw a certain publicity-loving MP.

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 13:15

nenny he's too busy paying for people to flee to a country where they can't get employment or speak the language whilst disrupting the life of their DC and causing the system to think they may be deliberately abusing or damaging said DC.
Always looks good on a persons SS file, that tack.

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 13:18

It's fine to criticise John but he has raised the profile of some of these cases and I quite understand his passion about it.

Timetoask · 14/01/2014 13:19

I watched the program and was horrified. It does seem that the babies were taken away in heist.
If I were a new parent, it would also make me absolutely TERRIFIED of taking my baby to the doctors.
All those families, my heart break for them and for the children that will not have the chance of growing with them. Very sad.

Lioninthesun · 14/01/2014 13:20

Shame he doesn't actually have anything to add to the debate other than scaremongering though. He is going to look very foolish if they lift the secrecy ban. I wonder how long you will want to be friends with him after that?

nennypops · 14/01/2014 13:20

wizard, you seem to have forgotten to answer my questions about the evidence you claim to have, including stuff that is online. Do you think you could do so now? Otherwise we might think the evidence doesn't exist.
