Looking forward to it? Wasn't it a pile of daily fail crap last time?

TheRealCarrieBradshaw · 13/01/2014 20:02

Rooners, didn't you watch it?!

OP posts:
nikkihollis · 13/01/2014 20:08

Shamefully, a little bit. Yes Blush.

Rooners · 13/01/2014 20:15

No...I dislike tabloidesque benefit bashing programmes. I had a feeling it would be terribly depressing. Being on benefits to an extent I don't particularly wish to see a stereotypical representation of 'people like me', though I am sure some people enjoyed it.

hickorychicken · 13/01/2014 20:26

This thread will go down like a lead balloon Grin

This weeek not so much as i can imagine theres a lot of underlying or even more obvious racism, but overall i think itl be in an interesting series, thats if its not pulled. Smile

Bowlersarm · 13/01/2014 20:29

I haven't watched it yet. I think I need to after the furore it kicked up on here last week. I should know what everyone's talking about.

theywillgrowup · 13/01/2014 21:06

yep watching now,was expecting it to get pulled to

DownstairsMixUp · 13/01/2014 21:08

Would rather have a 3 way with Schofield and Prescott than watch that rubbish.

nikkihollis · 13/01/2014 21:14

So far it is dispelling the Romanians coming over here just for the benefits myth. Shame they're making a bloody mess with the bin bags but they just want to be able to work. I have 2 friends from Burundi who were just desperate to work when they came here but because their asylum claims had been totally messed up by the authorities, they couldn't apply for jobs till they were sorted. All they wanted was to get on and get working.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 13/01/2014 21:18

I'm glad it actually seems to be dispelling the immigrant benefit myth but the rubbish isn't great!

Feel for the Romanian family. They really want to work.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 13/01/2014 21:20

I think there are more serious issues than whether they have nice flowers!

hickorychicken · 13/01/2014 21:21

Exactly jazz, like getting that woman a bra!!

I can see the principle behind the Britain in Bloom idea - if people have lovely things around them, they'll respect the area etc - but it's hard to believe that many people are in a position to get involved. I mean the Romanian family have slightly more pressing things to deal with for starters and I can't see Fungi and friends planting geraniums all over the place. And hickory you are spot on, Dee needs a bra far more urgently than a trowel and a pack of seedlings.

hickorychicken · 13/01/2014 21:31

This has just taken a real dark turn Sad

GeraldineFangedVagine · 13/01/2014 21:34

I feel really sad for the poor Romanians.

hickorychicken · 13/01/2014 21:34

Those poor guys make £10 a day for 17 hours labour, i bet some of the residents on that street spend that on cigs for the day. I just despair.

GeraldineFangedVagine · 13/01/2014 21:35

I feel really sad for the poor Romanians.

StrawberryMojito · 13/01/2014 21:35

Really feel for the Romanians.

PicklePicklePickle · 13/01/2014 21:37

This is incredibly sad. As parent we would all travel to the end of the earth in an effort to help our children. It must be soul destroying to come all this way with the hope of being able to send money back to your family.

It was very heart warming to see the pakastani man helping the romainians.

GeraldineFangedVagine · 13/01/2014 21:38

Dee's are very negative about the gardens

AliceinSlumberland · 13/01/2014 21:40

I don't see why the police can't help if the boss has their passport?

PicklePicklePickle · 13/01/2014 21:43

God they are in such an awful predicament.

Scarletohello · 13/01/2014 21:44

I could cry for those poor men. They are being shamefully exploited.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 13/01/2014 21:45

Why can't the police do something??? These poor men are fearing for their lives because of some exploitative cunt.

To think this could be going on around any of us Sad
