Hello everyone, I am new to Mumsnet and thought I'd start by saying hi and asking which TV channels they allow/prefer their children to watch and for how long?

My little one is glued to 'In the Night Garden'... he is 26 months and it is the only show that he fixates on. Are there any other shows similar that have the same affect?

Hi letzygonsbezyons,

Thank you!

Which do you prefer to watch? Peter Rabbit is lovely, but my son is not at the age yet to be interested, as with Horrible Histories. Mr Tumble on the other hand..!

We do have an iPad, but if he uses it too regular, then we find that it is almost impossible to prise it from him without a backlash of tears. So we have to restrict the time we allow. usually one episode of Night Garden.

I sometimes sit with DC for her progs but the ones that keep me glued are Horrible Histories, Something special , Peter rabbit and Tracy Beaker.
the others- I only like the 2 pirate guys at the end of Jake, Keith Fit and Arthur Sleep on Gigglebiz, and a couple of others.

DD is only 8 months but when she's having her breakfast she scans a bit of CBeeBies and she does enjoy Mr Tumble and Mr Bloom. Also likes the Shapes on Mr Maker if she's still awake. :)

DD1 who is 2 and a bit loves Peppa pig and Ben and holly. But I was getting fed up of the continuous adverts on nick jr so bought some DVDs which she can watch in short spells. She also likes alphablocks and numtums, oh and topsy and tim (which really irritates me for some reason!)
DD2 who is 1 is fascinated by waybuloo.
That sounds like we just sit in and watch telly all day- we don't honestly! Ha ha. But they have been poorly lately so have been watching more than normal. Hmm
