Did anyone catch this?
I've watched the first 6 minutes on 4oD this morning, and am already really surprised at the couple (care worker and mechanic) talking about their sex life. There's awkwardness, embarrassment... fair enough but the lack of respect between a perfectly normal couple is really striking. I have a sense of dread that it's not going to be challenged by the therapist.

Ok, another minute in and the way the husband is describing his behaviour towards his wife, her lying there frozen and rejecting his advances and then him threatening to leave her if she didn't get it sorted out... I'm not sure I want to watch any more. No wonder we get such scary stories on the Relationships forum.

I am about to watch this on 4 OD and amazed there is not more discussion on here ...

I only caught it On Demand. Found it thought-provoking and would be interested to hear what you thought.

I was disappointed with it.
i thought that theyseemed to resolve things so quickly and obviously.

Erm, I found watching both couples be sloppy and lovey-dovey extremely uncomfortable viewing, but that probably says more about me than them and I was surprised at my own discomfort. We all like to think we're liberal and comfortable around sex.

More seriously, I thought that the dynamics around the younger couple's sexual relationship seriously worrying. I thought he came across as selfish, unkind and controlling. I'm afraid I thought him very lacking in emotional and social intelligence.

What did you think?

The therapist said that lack of sex resulted from deep seated problems/trauma but then the young couple were shown to resolve their issues with one at home "date night", a bottle of Lambrusco rose and a few erotic novels -- hmm...

The older couple also resolved their issues with a bit of " prince and princess kissing" and one massage session. I agree with dusteahtdust - all seemed too easy.

Vivacia I thought the youngerman seemed detached as well but as the programme progressed I thought that the woman also seemed lacking in emotional intelligence. They may have had great sex on the date night but I doubt their serious communication problems have been resolved.

I fely uncomfortable with the older lady's graphic description of their sticky situation. It was thought provoking though.

One bit where I did feel a bit sorry for the younger couple was their preparations for a romantic meal. Awkward.

I was disappointed tbh. I expected to be a lot of talk about problems women in general experience and the change in attitudes and behaviours etc but it seemed to just be about those two women and very specific to them. It felt like i was watching two private therapy sessions that had no relevance at all to me or anyone outside of the session. Dont feel like i gained or learned anything at all.
