West Wing - CJ Cregg

I've been watching West Wing (again!) and it occurred to me how much CJ's character develops over the course of the 7 seasons.

Currently on Season 6 and she's settling into the Chief of Staff role (I wasn't quite convinced that was realistic - why wasn't Josh chosen, since he'd been Deputy for years?)

Noticed today though how she has grown in confidence and strength over the years.

CJ is my favourite ever female character on TV. She is a goddess.

Alison Janney is in Masters of Sex at the moment, where, frankly, she is acting everyone else off the screen.

I listen to whatever takes my fancy on R4/R4extra when I can't get back to sleep after the inevitable 4am pitstop. But I do have a couple of early Season 2 eps on my phone that I paid extra for for my Sam Seaborn hit.

If I am not well, I always go Season 2 for some reason It's like the chicken soup of telly for me.

cannot possibly miss a west wing discussion!

so glad others also re-watch in times of sickness.
(though perhaps in my case, it becomes a bit indistinguishable from times of health... )

i like cj too but toby is my favourite ... ' i'll bet all the money in my pockets against all the money in your pockets..' err sorry didn't mean to 'burst into quote' there...

Oh love love love the West Wing. Watched it from start to finish when pg with DS2 who ended up being called Leo. Just think the writing is fantastic.

Olivia! The secret is out. I never thought about putting an episode on my phone for emergencies.

I think it would have to be Root Canal. Or the US-Canadian war.

I liked Newsroom. It wasn't WW but I liked it.

I liked Newsroom too, despite Emily Bloody Mortimer as I may have said in quite a few posts on the MN Newsroom threads. S2 was better than S1 too (despite Maggie )

Met the President today ;-) he is here in Dubai for the film festival. What a fab guy in real life. Funnily enough ds and I had just watched the very last episode the day before and had no idea we would have this opportunity today.

But back to CJ she is the business. I would love to meet her, and I'm off to find the other series you mention. So now we are back to season 1 again with the very lovely Sam Seabourne.
