Thought would get in there early in case something exciting happens and we all get carried away.

Just to make my stance clear - I love Alfonso, Vincent and David, falling out of love with Matthew and am really not liking Amy or Mo. Am pretty 'take em or leave em' about the rest Smile

I think Amy knows EXACTLY what she's doing, and she is stirring things up more than somewhat with her wide eyed "poor me" bit.

She really had to struggle to bring on the tears yesterday with Becky & she is misrepresenting what other have said to get folks on side as she has been rumbled with her dishonesty over the contraband saga.

Snowbility · 03/12/2013 08:40

But he's not really part of the bully gang though - he doesn't like the queen bee ie Matthew

Snowbility · 03/12/2013 08:40

"He" as in Alphonso...

Animation · 03/12/2013 08:41

I see nothing wrong in arguing - or in confronting someone you're not happy with, but bullying is a different kettle of fish.

I also saw Steve kind of confront Amy on one occasion but that didn't make him a bully. It was a one off.

Animation · 03/12/2013 08:45

Amy I don't think will win because she's a bit irritating I agree.

MissMarplesBloomers · 03/12/2013 08:46

I think bullying is a strong term for this sort of behaviour, its a snippet of what goes on in the 24 hr period, designed to get us all talking (as we are!) taking sides & voting.

I agree Lucy has come out of this looking bad & Alfonso as a loud mouth Yank but how much of that is manipulated by the producers to spice things up!

Chippingnortonset123 · 03/12/2013 08:53

Thanks, Maryz. I hoped it would be Lucy.

I missed Alfonso being a bully last night.

Dh says that I must be very ill if I couldn't even leave my bed to watch I'm a Celebrity!

Animation · 03/12/2013 08:55

I would have liked Alfonso to have done better - and I was rooting for him when he confronted Matthew - but sadly he looks part of the bullying culture, and so will probably get voted off.

Bakingnovice · 03/12/2013 10:46

There has been bullying. It's when a group of people (usually led by one or two strong leaders) join forces to single out one person and make them feel shit. That person is any. Lucy and mo are ringleaders. Rebecca is a sidekick. She sits and nods when Lucy and mo bitch. She was the one who told Lucy that any had a concealer, but she didn't admit this to Amy. She is definitely in Lucy's camp. She doesn't lead the nastiness but she approves of it.

Lucy has a problem with Amy and has had since day 1.

Amy is annoying too but her bad qualities pale compared to Lucy/mo/annabel. I hope one of the nice guys like David or joey win. Even though they are boring.

kerstina · 03/12/2013 11:07

Yes Mo and Lucy are the bullies especially the way she snatched the cloth off Amy. Mo gets away with the nastiness by being funny but she is not really a nice person or just lacking in sensitivity perhaps. Mathew is quite sensitive so he is not a bully.

TheCurseOfFenric · 03/12/2013 11:22

The snatching the cloth off Amy is so overblown.

She was acting like a petulant child - there was a general system in place (Annabel usually did the washing up after dinner, and had organised where she put stuff), and when Amy was made to asked ot dry up, she wafted over, said everything was wrong, went so slowly that she ran out of room to put stuff (to make a point, maybe?)

I think Mo could see that Annabel was getting irritated by the teenage sulk going on (Annabel will have seen her fair share of work to rule and point-making from teenagers Grin) and jumped in to stop it all blowing up over something so stupid (and Mo was probably really irritated by the go-slow on Amy's part too).

I am aware that all of the above is only my view, but it goes to show how the heavily edited hour can be interpreted in different ways.

I think it has been particularly blatant the way that this whole concealer thing has dominated, and the footage has been of sniping and so-called bitching (seems to be discussion most of the time to me) forthe coupleof days before the voting begins. Clearly there was not enough controversy, and maybe votes were down because not enough people cared about anyone, as it had all been pretty bland - lots of trials won, not many that bothered by the creepy crawlies, no one starving and moral pretty high.

Voting to save your favourite only works ona large scale where there is a perceived injustice - people get up in arms, and jump in to 'right the wrong' by saving the person apparently in the wrong. Maybe, with everyone getting long better, the people in charge thought the voting might not go the way they wanted (as this whole thing is manipulated thorughout to ensure the 'right' person wins), and had to whip this up quickly.

bitemabum · 03/12/2013 11:47

It's defiantly not bullying, it's people acting how people act. It's edited to make people look bad so there's some controversy. We've all voiced negative opinions about people we don't like. If you claim not to have your telling porkies! It's not bullying to dislike someone.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 03/12/2013 11:57

Do you know, I think this year has been so bleak. You've hardly seen any camp fun, in previous years you've seen them having a real laugh, sitting round enjoying each others company. There are normally a few strong friendships formed and you see them just having bloody fun.
I honestly think this year has been the most awkward to watch, the group is really fractured and I don't think they chose the contestants well at all. It's not been enjoyable or lighthearted for me.

TheCurseOfFenric · 03/12/2013 12:04

they ahve shown lots of fun, though, on the ITV2 show, and in the 'best bits' as people leave. Lots of laughter that just isn't getting seen - presumably as part of the editorial manipulation, to make us think there isn't much cohesion, or that the groups are splintered (to promote a bullying situation?) etc.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 03/12/2013 12:26

I do watch the ITV2 show, they do generally show more fun bits, but I just don't think the group of people are that likeable or entertaining.
Alfonso is boring (missing his family more than likely), Steve has hardly been show, Eric is nice but dull, Kian ditto etc etc. The others have mainly got involved in catty comments and I just don't enjoy seeing people feeling uncomfortable like that. It's not nice.
And it feels like the editing has been all about trying to get a catfight going.

LadyBeagleEyes · 03/12/2013 12:27

Two evictions tonight.
It's got to be Antonio hasn't it, but wonder who the other will be.
Lucy perhaps?

MonkeysInTheFog · 03/12/2013 12:27

Mo's "trial" fell completely flat. It was almost embarrassing. The entertainment value depended on the person doing the trial being pathetic about:

Having a small croc (with its jaws taped, therefore harmless) lying on them.
Taking something from round the neck of a docile and clearly well fed large bird.

Can't even remember the others they were that dull.

TheCurseOfFenric · 03/12/2013 12:30

I agree that the manipulation via editing ahs been more blatant this time - really clunky at times.

I can't remember exactly, but at one point Lucy was in the video confessional bit, and said eg Amy had been advised to cry for a sympathy vote (wild paraphrasing!), but it was obvious she meant that actually Lucy thought she had been ill-advised ot go in the jungle in the first place, not advised (badly) to cry at all opportunities as was made out.

They are really trying so hard to make out that there are petty spats going on, which maks me suspect that for the most part they are all getting on fine, and having a reasonably amount of fun at least part of the time.

LadyBeagleEyes · 03/12/2013 12:30

The other ones were some crab like things dropped on her head which never went anywhere near her face and a very docile snake in a pair of plastic trousers that didn't move an inch.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 03/12/2013 12:35

I wrote about that part of editing Lucy too TheCurse, on this thread or the last, can't remember now. Could see right through it, but thought it very very unfair and harsh how they completely took what she said out of context.
Yep, trial was crap, think a lot of the trials this year haven't been much cop really. Those crabs just walked round the box and the snake couldn't have got out even if it tried.
But sadly the trial was carried out by the woman with no sense of personality at all.
Do you mean Alfonso Lady? I think so too, hope so anyway, him and Matthew to go please. Matthew who appears to want to stir things up from his bed.

MonkeysInTheFog · 03/12/2013 12:36

Ah yes! The crabs that were dropped next to her head and the snake that couldn't go any higher than her waist. Edge of the seat, perilous stuff Hmm

LadyBeagleEyes · 03/12/2013 12:45

Yes Alfonso Blush
I don't want Mathew or Lucy to go yet, yes they do stir things up, it would be boring without them.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/12/2013 13:26

I really wonder what some people are watching when they say there is bullying.

Amy has made some huge mistakes - she hasn't been supportive of the group - and so she has pissed off her camp-mates. They have then moaned about her amongst themselves, and have tried to make her do her fair share of housekeeping abound the camp.

Amy has not responded well to being told to participate more, and to not put her own needs first, claiming she is being victimised.

She's not being victimised, she is acting the victim. There is a big difference.

TheCurseOfFenric · 03/12/2013 13:30

she also seems to not know about quitting while you're not really ahead.

all her lies are unravelling, and she cannot get out of them. but instead of trying to make the best of it, she carries on, twisting everything and, as you say, Anne, playing the victim.

Golddigger · 03/12/2013 16:13

Anyone think that this lot are not particularly memorable?
