Are we the only family who watch Under the Dome and Revolution?

Teenage DSs both love them and so we watch as a family. DH winds them up immensely by confusing the plots.
Revolution is a bit violent for me but worth it for Miles Matheson.
Pink stars and fireflies Grin

I missed Under the Dome, but love Revolution.

Although I'm a Seb Monroe girl myself Wink

It is getting a little silly though. OK the plot is far fetched, but they could get away with that. It's the polished glamour of the cast that bugs me, like how does their hair stay so wonderful all the time?

secretscwirrels · 14/11/2013 17:00

Yes their hair and teeth are pristine and the clothes are newly manufactured apparently. It's outrageously far fetched. It's fun to pick holes in it.
Actually Monroe is growing on me this series. He mutters too much though. And it's all filmed in the dark.
Under the Dome is equally bad. They've all been trapped for weeks but the shop still has food in it. We went to Center Parcs recently and that gave lots of material for Dome and Propane jokes.

I think Monroe grew on me during the shirtless fighting scene Wink Don't get me wrong, I do like Miles too...

I get slightly jealous at DP ogling the annoyingly beautiful Charlie though double standards she's just one of the most beautiful actresses on TV at the moment I think!

The plot is getting slightly more interesting with the whole Aaron and the Fireflies / all seeing nanobots though.

secretscwirrels · 14/11/2013 17:51

Surprisingly the 17 and 15 year old boys in this house don't like Charlie. I think it's more to do with her being very whiney in series one. She can take on a whole bar room of big blokes in a brawl now though Wink.

Yes she is a bit annoying. I think her and Monroe will get it on.

Her mother on the other hand, is seriously annoying. Is her face full of botox or is she just a rubbish actress?

Sgt Neville is growing on me though, I like his tenacity! You just know that he's going to find his wife alive and well, shacked up with some US patriot don't you...

CosyTeaBags · 14/11/2013 18:11

By the way - I watch this on catchup, so I won't be around for any up to date comment criticism of charlie's hair tomorrow sadly!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/11/2013 16:48

there are a few of us nutters about

revolution here

and Dome here

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 15/11/2013 16:59

Me and DH watch both amongst another 100 american shows DCs a little young yet for them.

secretscwirrels · 16/11/2013 10:18

Yes we seem to watch a lot of American cop things Biscuits.
It's one of the pleasures of older children, watching stuff together you actually like rather than pretending you like teletubbies or whatever it is they watch nowadays

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 16/11/2013 18:07

Yup. To both.

We find them both annoying and yet totally addictive Grin

ipswichwitch · 16/11/2013 18:16

We watch revolution too, and love the whole far fetchedness of it all. Charlie's mam does have just one facial expression - sort of mild surprise all the time!
Love Miles (Bellas dad off twilight ;) ) and his sarcasm. We're placing bets on how long it takes Charlie to get it on with new hunky guy who's also looking for Monroe.... Maye another 3 episodes?

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 16/11/2013 19:09

I think Miles is Charlies Biological dad. Never realised he was Bella's dad. Ive seen Twilight too. Im rubbish with faces.

ipswichwitch · 16/11/2013 22:25

He did have a tache in twilight biscuits, so DH didn't recognise him either. Made him watch the film again just to prove it (don't think he's entirely forgiven me Grin)

perkycreed · 16/11/2013 22:37

We love under the done and the first season of revolution but the ad ins season has not been great and I have now given up on it but can't wait for under the dome season 2

secretscwirrels · 17/11/2013 12:17

Perky, no I'm not so keen on the second revolution series but I'm out numbered here. DSs like all the fighting I think.
Did anyone else notice how quickly the landscape recovered after the government tried to bomb the dome?
Immediately afterwards it was like the apocalypse but by the next episode it was all green and lush again Grin.
I haven't seen the last episode yet as the sky planner is full of similar rubbish and nothing ever gets watched on time here. It means I have to avoid reviews and most threads in case of spoilers.

If you watch Revolution - Do you also like the Tunnell and The Following. Or am I the only saddo?

secretscwirrels · 17/11/2013 13:20

Yes we are watching the Tunnel. No idea what's going on though!
The delightful Elise. Though some of the scenes are a bit Blush in front of 17 year old DS.
Not heard of the Following, will look at it.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 17/11/2013 13:43

We like Under The Dome too. Grin

I thought they said it had been up for nine days though? Not weeks? Mind you even if that's the case it very quickly descended into anarchy and total chaos.

onedev · 17/11/2013 17:11

Never seen the Tunnel, the love The Following! Any idea if there's a Season 2 kyles?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2013 19:08

i just cant get into s2 of rev :(

but loved the dome, tho battling the book at the mo

anonacfr · 17/11/2013 23:43

The Following is fabulous! It started off all serious and scary and then turned into the most ridiculous, cliché-ridden, OTT and camp pile of wonderfulness. James Purefoy was hamming it up as if his life depended on it. Can't wait for the sequel.

I still have the last episode of Under the Dome to watch but am thoroughly enjoying Rev 2. Still as bad but we get scruffy Monroe this season. What more can one ask for?

thecatlikesmebest · 18/11/2013 14:00

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme Your name has inspired me. It's my fault. I was just thinking they had been Under the Dome for weeks because we've been watching it for weeks Blush.
I can't find the Following on any channel, has it finished?

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 18/11/2013 15:37

Aww, glad to be of service. Wink

anonacfr · 18/11/2013 16:44

The Following was on one of the Sky channels and it might be on demand right now.
They showed the first series and a second is imminent.
