It's almost time for 'The Big Four' which will reunite all the Poirot Characters. Anyone else tuning in?

I'm recording it to watch when DP gets home from work. I love Poirot!

SpottyDottie · 23/10/2013 20:18

Strange start! I won't give it away Ralph

I'm watching too. I've just realised the French woman is Patricia Hodge, I didn't recognise her.

SpottyDottie · 23/10/2013 21:31

It's really weird!!!

It's Poirot on drugs. Clearly he isn't really dead as there are two more episodes in this series.

MsJupiterJones · 23/10/2013 22:02

Well it bore very little relation to the book - not such a terrible thing as it's easily the worst Poirot story (also one of my favourites).

It did have all the characters but all jumbled up, I kept explaining to DH what was meant to be happening. I think he thought I was making it up.

Crikeyblimey · 23/10/2013 22:08

Oh :(. Have I missed it? What side was it on and when please?

runes · 23/10/2013 22:40

They usually stick to the book for the Poirots but this one is very different. Not really one of my favourites so I don't really mind.

MsJupiterJones · 23/10/2013 23:23

I think it improved on the ending, but got a bit confused with itself. It was also confusing for anyone who knows the book trying to work out who Number 4 was.

It's itv, they are doing the final four adaptations with David Suchet over the next few weeks.

CeliaFate · 24/10/2013 19:32

I hated the ending. I really enjoyed the book, it was a bit of nonsense but a rip roaring adventure. The tv adaptation was weak and limp by comparison. I was really annoyed with it, it could have been done much better. I also thought the return of Hastings and Miss Lemon was pointless, they didn't do anything!

HollaAtMeBaby · 26/10/2013 22:02

It's on ITV Player (just FYI for anyone who missed it)!

Anyone watching the last ever Poirot tonight? [sniff] I may need a tissue. I can't remember Poirot not being on tv...since adulthood anyway.

CeliaFate · 13/11/2013 13:30

I take comfort from the fact that it's repeated endlessly on ITV3 and have it on series link so I can always watch.
I feel like I want to watch Curtain on my own, in case I blub helplessly.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/11/2013 20:04

DH is away tonight so I'm watching alone. I know I'll blub.

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 13/11/2013 20:08

We are watching. Recording for dd2 who is obsessed but at Guides!

Longdistance · 13/11/2013 20:10

We're watching it :)

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/11/2013 20:15

[waves] it's hard to even see Poirot in a wheelchair and frail

Longdistance · 13/11/2013 20:16

I think he plays Poirot very well.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/11/2013 20:18

He does indeed.

runes · 13/11/2013 20:36

David Suchet is Poirot. Love him! This is one of the best books and so far has been done justice. Brilliant Smile

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/11/2013 20:47

I had all the Agatha Christie books as a child. I think my mother threw them out when I left home. Sad

CeliaFate · 13/11/2013 20:54

I found the entire collection in hardback on ebay. Dh bought them for me, they're one of my most valued possessions!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 13/11/2013 21:00

How fantastic Celia! I may try and find a set.
