This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm.

If you like a world more WTF than Willy Wonkas, you're in the right place. Please join in whether you are a regular, a newbie or a lurker. It's good fun Grin. Doctors brings us Austen week next week. Doctors and Austen? How?

It's not exactly a rare book- go to the library!

Hasn't he seen the Emma Thompson film (with the shit casting?Grin).

NorthAnneEyhtMeyerAbbey · 16/10/2013 14:10

Love that Al is hooked by Austen!

cinnamongreyhound · 16/10/2013 14:10

The library Shock

pembeRaahhley · 16/10/2013 14:10

Don't drown, no, please don't drown....please drown

NorthAnneEyhtMeyerAbbey · 16/10/2013 14:10

If Chris didn't speak I could actually fancy him. Particularly wet. If he had a haircut.

pembeRaahhley · 16/10/2013 14:11

Ok, the library was pushing it. There's a sparkly big new one in Brum, though. I saw it on't telly.

cinnamongreyhound · 16/10/2013 14:11

Those shoes look sensible for someone on her feet all day Wink

NorthAnneEyhtMeyerAbbey · 16/10/2013 14:11

Another interesting cross post, Raahh!

pembeRaahhley · 16/10/2013 14:13

Tomorrow looks interestingGrin

cinnamongreyhound · 16/10/2013 14:13

I love the library, take my children every week because I was deprived as my mum doesn't do second hand

Nope don't see it, even as mute and with a haircut he still doesn't do it for me.

pembeRaahhley · 16/10/2013 14:13

Anne- we a clearly coming at this thread from opposite sidesGrin

WhoKnowsWhereTheBonnetsGo · 16/10/2013 15:03

I hate the library - we only go about twice a year because we always lose the bloody books. The DCs borrowed a CD about two months ago, I went to take it back and found they'd taken it out of the case. Went home, found the CD the next day - can I find the case? No. Have looked everywhere. It turned out to be a crap CD as well. Charity shops are much better!

SacreBlue · 16/10/2013 15:06

I just watched the last Austen one - Jimmi's lips looked like they have liner on & he does letchy well with the tongue poking thing

Iplayer was lovely & let me play today's already :) I missed the Austen connection and it certainly makes more sense now that it's a fragment of another story. It left me unsatisfied

So glad 6tl was smiling, she does do an awful lot of heavy sigh, down cast eyes acting

Thank you btw for all making me feel welcome :)

NorthAnneEyhtMeyerAbbey · 16/10/2013 16:50

I have a self-imposed ban on the library as I was paying more in fines than the books cost on Amazon.

OohDoctorDarcy · 16/10/2013 17:00

Toddler uses the library a lot but the rest if us buy. We walk past it and go weekly at least for her as they've a nice children's room

pembeRaahhley · 16/10/2013 18:41

I always start out with good intentions re-the library. Then end up re-newing the same books on-line for months on end. Even though it is at the same place as the asda I use nearly every dayHmm. it is open/ closed on all the wrong days. And the non-fiction area is rubbish. It's a shame really, I lived in my local library when i was ds's age, did all my work there. It's just not possible now. Sad

curlyclaz13 · 16/10/2013 19:56

We went to the library today for rhyme time (quite mad !) I keep thinking I should go but considering there are two library books on my shelf that are about 14 years overdue Blush I am scared of the fine Grin I might join small person up though as I am getting bored of the six books he has !

curlyclaz13 · 16/10/2013 19:57

ooh and not raahh ours is by asda too !

SacreBlue · 16/10/2013 21:40

Best thing about the library when my DS was small was that they did books on tape. Cue relief from reading six stories a night to one read story and as many taped stories as he wanted :D it was quite nice to lie down at the bottom of his bed and get read to as well

MsNobodyAgain · 17/10/2013 12:10

Just watched yesterdays. Ugh! Chris lunging at that poor girl like a drunken teenager. I can't take to him at all.

That was some impressive frrrrrrrrrill on Mrs Ts blouse! Nice bob wig was out as well. And she used the word 'bosom'

Beautician woman is not a match made in heaven for Heston. He needs to visit a psychic and be told the way to true love involves someone wearing a tabard.

OP posts:
curlyclaz13 · 17/10/2013 12:36

Recording today as it's no tea and tits. I have just noticed that the beeb call doctors medical, soap. arff medical ? have they watched it ? we are shocked if there are patients.
love the thought of Heston seeing a psychic and her seeing tabards in his future Grin

pembeRaahhley · 17/10/2013 13:09

curly- trading standards have obviously never been called in to check the 'medical' credentials of DoctorsGrin.

DD2 is not in a good mood. I am not sure whether I will get to see today 'live'.Sad

ClayDavis · 17/10/2013 13:38

I think it's known as 'artistic license'.

Given Al's complete mispronunciation of paroxetine the other week, I suspect that unlike other medical dramas they don't even have any medical advisors.

pembeRaahhley · 17/10/2013 13:44

It's a good thing they rarely have 'patients', really.Grin

I have a couple of minutes to persuade dd2 Doctors is better than Mr Tumble.

It's not looking good.
