Breaking Bad had humour, does The Wire?

Some really funny bits from McNulty expecially when he poses as a posh Englishman in season 2, which of course, he is, the bungling Herc and Carver and a listening device, Omar, especially being cross-examined in court by Levy (think that's season 3), Clay Davis and 'sheeeeeet'.

Definitely. Not necessarily funny lines, more in the characterisation. Bubbles springs to mind.

Yes indeed, it's very funny in parts - e.g. Bunk and McNulty's investigation of an old crime scene where they say nothing except "fuck" for several minutes.

Oh yes, The Wire is very funny in parts. I agree it's the characterisation that makes you laugh even at quite grim stuff sometimes!

I actually think the Wire had more humour (and warmth) than BB. I give Wire 10 out of 10 on all leves, and BB a 9

I absolutely loved The Wire, it was wonderfully written and engaging . I must be the only person left on the planet who hasn't seen Breaking Bad .

Agree that it's very funny in parts. Must get round to watching Breaking Bad. People keep recommending it o me.

Some of McNaulty's scenes are laugh out loud - the one where he recreates a car crash after hitting a pole to the sound of the Pogues (from memory) is hilarious.

I think I would rate The Wire a 9.5 and Breaking Bad a 10.

The Bunk and Omar are the most hilarious characters I think. The scene where The Bunk and McNulty get drunk are very funny.
I've just re-watched series 1 after about a 4 year gap and I still love it very, very much.

I watched the first series of Breaking Bad and it wasn't for me for some reason I couldn't quite put my finger on. I loved the main character but I just didn't like it.

I liked the first season Pat but it was not as good as The Wire, but oh my goodness from season 3 on it is just beyond brilliant. Well worth persevering with.
