I don't get the deal with this man - the stuff he has parents doing should be common sense. He gets results, sure, but the healthy food/tidy house thing should have been staring the parents in the face. Why do they need a supposed mind-reader to tell them the obvious.

I was horrified at the state of the house, and 'm a bit of a slut wjen it comes to house work. Going to give the play room a real tidy out this sfternoon!

Not swearing in front of the kids would be another big positive step for last night family

Medulla · 27/06/2006 07:29

Is this another "parenting programme"? Not living in the UK I am missing out on all this. Is it the same deal as usual, parents not able to cope get help from the "experts" Mind reading - now that's a new one. Dr Tania hasn't been there before!!

aaronsmummy · 27/06/2006 07:45

Medulla - this guy visits the family on neutral territory and reads the child's mind. He then visits them at home - tells them to tidy up, feed the child healthy food and be more positive etc etc. I am very sceptical.

Did anyone see it last week? Some common sense stuff but also told the mother that her daughter knew she had been raped at the age of 14! I am not saying I believe him and didn't like the programme but ????

aaronsmummy · 27/06/2006 08:14

I know - really scary - but I am not so sure - could it be a set-up?

well if anyone believed he got all the info from the 2 year old last night, I would have them locked up... just taking 1 quick look around the house, seeing the crap they were feeding the kids and the appalling mothering skills were enough to give anyone an idea of what could possibly be wrong there... maybe if they had met outside the house, but come on ... bleeding common sense wrapped up in channel 5 nonsense.... and that mother .... words fail me... I hope she is shocked when she watches back how her attitude is effecting her kids' behaviour..

oh dear i think hes great and when i was offered a reading(which i cant accept)they made a point of telling me to have no contact at all with derek (he has a website where you can email him)as they dont want him havin any info at all.they test his powers with a pilot before launchin a series.he is a psychic and telepathic.its more interesting tho with kids as there is so many programmes like that now.he does live tours if you are sceptical go see a show he cant fake that can he?

hub2dee · 04/08/2006 19:59

Haven't even see it, and I'd stick my neck out to say total fake. A combination of good bodylanguage reading, an understanding of statistics (common names / life events / illnesses), and an ability to bullsh1t on the fly I'd guess. If he's for real he'd be a millionaire from these people .

mummy115 · 05/08/2006 11:46

it all depends really on if you believe pyschics or not.maybe it isnt actually coming from the child but he gets it psychically fron his guides and just turns it into something a bit different?if it is genuine he probably will be a millionaire.i wish now id been able to go to the pilot reading then i could tell you for sure if hes real or fake.if i get the chance again i will.

Lmccrean · 06/08/2006 16:39

Isnt it funny how they lose that ability once they start to talk? (and could confirm his ability!)

Do you think he could communicate with older children/adults who cant talk due to a disability?

wartywarthog · 06/08/2006 19:41

i think he's a fake. haven't watched much i admit, but everything he came up with could be deduced some way or other. and what's not to say that when he goes to the bathroom, he has a quick snoop around? i wasn't very impressed!

wartywarthog · 06/08/2006 19:42

exactly lmc - funny how they 'lose the ability once they can talk'? very conveniiieeeeennnnnnnnttttttt
