Essex vs Yorkshire

Not really a North/South divide issue but a question about the Educating Essex and Educating Yorkshire series'. I don't think I read many of the threads about Educating Essex at the time but the threads about Educating Yorkshire seem generally a bit more negative. So does anyone have a preference? So far I think the Yorkshire hasn't been quite so interesting. I feel like they drag out one or two incidents or issues over one episode rather than showing us a bit more variety. Having said that I've really enjoyed both series and think there have been some great characters in both.

Imho the biggest difference is the quality of the heads. The Essex one was inspirational. The Yorkshire one seems absolutely rubbish. It may all be down to the editing of course.

I feel like we saw more of the deputy head in the Essex series than the head. I like the Yorkshire head but feel like his role is a bit less clear as he seems to be involved in all sorts of issues that I would have thought the deputy head or heads of year would have dealt with.
