His son, who was raised by the mother and grew up believing another man to be his father, id about to become a father himself. Hansen's Ex came to tell him this and try to get him to make contact. He has been dithering, hence all the "family" stuff shoehorned into last night's episode, but he appears to have decided not to and deleted his Ex from his phone contacts.

I think Mr Spence and Annaliese have three DDs and one DS.
