I just caught up with the second episode and I found bizarrely creepy.
The whole supernatural thing is rather out of the blue but strangely effective.
Next week looks horrible!

It is grim and ridiculous but I still enjoy it. Haven't seen Ep 2 yet

EastwickWitch · 15/09/2013 12:35

I'm finding it really dark; the footsteps in the office are giving me the creeps, worse than the torture.

NotQuitePerfect · 15/09/2013 16:07

DH & I love it!

Such a fab mix of dark humour, good detective work, quirky characters & downright scary story lines. It's pure entertainment, love the chemistry between Rupert Penry-Jones' character & Phil Smith's.

But why is it always so dark at the police station? How can they see their hands in front of their faces?

NotQuitePerfect · 15/09/2013 16:08

Phil Davis not Phil Smith!

Portofino · 15/09/2013 16:09

Which series? Is it a new one? I love it. Watched series 1 and 2 on Global iPlayer and am currently watching another on Belgian tv. Don't know if I have missed any....

EastwickWitch · 15/09/2013 16:17

New series, wednesdays at 9pm, 2 episodes so far. Definitely worth watching if you like the genre. but not if you're home alone in the dark

Portofino · 15/09/2013 16:44

Oh no! Will the old ones still be on the ITV iPlayer?

anonacfr · 16/09/2013 17:15

I really enjoyed the first series. The whole Krays thing in the second series was rather dull.
This one has a definite supernatural shift which I thought would be ridiculous but is in fact quite effective. I agree that the footsteps in the office, although cliche, are veeery creepy. I also jumped at the mystery figure darting through the screen at the end of the episode.

It's seriously gory isn't it? Some of the autopsy scenes reminded me of Silent Witness. And next week looks even worse.

Looks like the first 2 episodes are on the iPlayer. Dh is away tomorrow so guess what I am doing? Wink

birdybear · 16/09/2013 18:31

Why is it so dark? I can't get into it cos i keep thinking it is so unrealistic with the darkness in a police station and the fact that no other officers are at their desks etc

MrsSlocombesPussy · 16/09/2013 18:35

Did anyone notice the name of the creepy old lady at the bookshop? My friend at work reckons it was Louise Cypher. I wonder if she'll crop up again.

EastwickWitch · 16/09/2013 18:37

Didn't we see the same creepy old lady in the street at the end of the last episode, I'm sure it was her?

Fiderer · 17/09/2013 10:47

I spent half the weekend avoiding work and watching the earlier series. Phil Davis is v good and Rupert thingy too.

I'm sure I saw creepy woman cleaning the floors at the police station. Would fit in with her knowing so much about the people she spoke to at the book signing. Cleaners can be "invisible" to some.

Also may explain the footsteps, and the turning over of the office?

Fiderer · 17/09/2013 10:48

And yes, she was in the street too.

I am really enjoying it and the old lady is a very spooky touch. MI6 woman was a bit over the top though

diddl · 19/09/2013 15:23

"Did anyone notice the name of the creepy old lady at the bookshop?"

It's Louise Iver.

Tiredemma · 19/09/2013 15:25

I'm in love with RPJ

diddl · 19/09/2013 16:14

The pathologist-is the actress pregnant or the character?

And wasn't she in a previous series?

vjg13 · 19/09/2013 19:23

It's all gone a bit whoo for me. And I keep wanting them to put more lights on!!

Portofino · 19/09/2013 21:43

I,watched the first 2 episodes on the iPlayer last night. I don't like the woo especially. And the way they decided the 2 murders were connected without any obvious connection. Writing has got a bit slack. More effect, less plot, which is a disappointment.

Portofino · 19/09/2013 21:45

I mean, it was always dark and originally based on copy cat crimes. Series 3 started to get a BIT silly, but now.. Hmm

insomniarules · 20/09/2013 12:48

I really want then to switch their lights on in that office! And get their plumbing sorted out.
