I liked it. Made me smirk .Smile

HugoDarling · 07/09/2013 23:32

I loved it. His hair! And that must be Fazio senior?

Cremolafoam · 07/09/2013 23:52

Yes fazios dad!
Waiting for Mimi jr.Grin

IndridCold · 08/09/2013 10:35

Silly but fun. I liked it too!

nicename · 08/09/2013 10:39

Too many coincidences. And that shepherd was supposed to be 51? Or did I miss something (and it was his dad?).

He's cute I suppose...

when was this on?

HighBrows · 08/09/2013 10:54

I didn't watch it but Olivia it was on last night on BBC4 at 9. It might be repeated tonight!!! My parents love Montalbano and were tuned in last night....

nicename · 08/09/2013 11:35

And that manky coat!

YY my PILS love montalbano was going to give them a headsup

Gracelo · 09/09/2013 08:59

I missed some bit in the middle and suddenly it was an entirely different story. What was the link between the first murder and Viola?
I don't like it anywhere as much as the earlier series. There just don't seem to be equally interesting characters in it. I miss the older Catarella and Fazio Jr and Mary is no Livia. But most importantly young Montalbano doesn't have much charisma compared to Luca Zingaretti. He is just a bit meh.

nicename · 09/09/2013 10:16

He's too gangly! I suppose they got the mole right (he has one in the books). I liked Livia too and they way they strop with each other like an old married couple.

I don't think his relationship with his dad was as strained in the books (before he dies).

There wasn't a link between Viola and the original murder.

Are these in book form too?

Far less swearing, more nudity... All my sweary words were learned from the original series (much to the amusement of my friends Italian granny).

I like it because it's tiding me over until normal Montalbano returns. I miss the shaky theme tune/opening credits.

fussychica · 17/09/2013 16:30

Love that young Fazio has been introduced and this week Mimi and Livia appear.
Thought this week's episode was better and I'm warming to it but miss the music and opening sequences - my DH is always humming it, especially when we go past the Sicilian barbers Shock .

LittleAbruzzenBear · 18/09/2013 18:44

Grin at fussy, the music is gloriously bad in a likeable way!

hotbot · 18/09/2013 19:10

I luffs it.but prefer the real one.

fussychica · 22/09/2013 16:31

OMG what was going on with Mimi??? Why the awful moustache? Looked like BoratGrin not at all sexy and not at all what I'd imagined he'd be like however thought Livia was spot on.

SantanaLopez · 22/09/2013 20:39

Mimi was hilarious. Without the moustache he's bloody stunning... here.

My crush on Montalbano is even bigger now, that kiss

fussychica · 23/09/2013 10:59

Mmmm he is isn't he but I saw young Mimi as less swarthy and more floppy haired - more a Sicilian Hugh Grant if you know what I meanGrin

SDhopeful · 17/10/2013 18:33

Just caught up with this - I like the way that have done it, and as LAB said, at least it can tide us over till next Sat (wheyhey!!!) when our own dear Salvo returns in series 3

SDhopeful · 18/10/2013 16:17

These are classic - I love the way the back story is set up....

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 19/10/2013 09:12

I want to be Livia Grin. Pleased that Camilleri is on the screenplay - and love the way they have retrofitted those points that have always niggled me - how did he and Livia meet etc...
