Can anyone tell me why she killed that guy (in the flash back?) I missed it.

Because he was one of the others and was going to kill her!

no, the guy she killed in the flashback scene was the guy who had shot her in the robbery gone wrong (which then lead to her being of work and preumably misscarrying judging by her 'i was pregnant' comment). the police had previosuly arrested him but she refused to give him a positive ID and he was released - this then allowed her to go after him herself.

ah right - thanks for that. It is all getting complicated.
