Mistresses USA

Has anyone seen this? Its a godawful adaptation of the UK version. I LOOOVED UK mistresses. The characters actually had character. The casting was great. The acting was understated and believeable.

The US version is just soap-opera uncomfortable. I'm disappointed as I thought I might get a good-but-different version. (I really liked Life on Mars US for instance, just in a different way) The actress who plays Trudi's character (April?) makes me want to turn over she's so bad.

It's shocking isnt it! and of course the suspense isn't there because we know what will happen!
I'm disappointed.

I didn't see the uk version is it the same story?

Totally agree- I had high hopes for this but it just made me cringe. I know that the UK version was pretty ludicrous - not many new Mums slip out to hotels to pick up men during the night without their husband noticing, or the baby waking up - but at least the characters were interesting.

Fortyfacedfuckers - The first episode was practically the same storyline, but I have read that the story diverges later on as UK series are much shorter than US versions.

Ah ok thanks. Is it worth trying to catch the Uk version I love this kind of crap tv.

I really enjoyed the UK version so I'd say its worth watching both series. Yes there were unbelievable elements (and not many new mums look like Orla Kiely lets face it) but good acting makes up for a lot. As does characters you're interested in - even if they are unlikeable (again, Siobhan (Ms Kiely) who was loathesome to her lovely hubby)

USA just can't compete :(

Their version is shameless - being human and now mistress's just aren't any good :(
