Why are all those poor women stuck in bed?!

Haven't seen it but assume it's because all those "poor women" have chosen to have an epidural and it has been immediately granted. Isn't that great? Unlike in the UK where you can beg all you want but if the midwife decides against it or the anaesthetist is heading out for lunch, you don't get one.

Also, they may well have been in labour for hours and are knackered and have spent long enough squatting over a bouncy ball.

no one of the had no pain relief and was kept lying down. Was treated like they had a medical condition and not doing something your body was made for :( I can't imagine not being able to have walked around.

Oh honestly - everyone labours differently.

Yes - it's interesting to note the differences but we don't need to be calling people "poor women". Poor women are ones giving birth without any access to medical help when suffering from serious complications.
