I really enjoyed this programme, what an interesting project? I wonder if the restaurant is open now - I'd love to visit. Maybe it just me but I thought Ollie had a touch of the Jamie Oliver about him though!!

When and where is it on Bomper?

Bomper · 05/06/2006 22:51

It's replaced the Great British Menu, so every day at 6.30pm on BBC2 - I think, not totally sure though!!

I agree about the touch of Jamie Oliver, Bomper.

My DH says he wouldnt trust anyone who eats roadkill to tell him which mushrooms are safe to eat though - or anything else for that matter!

Salamander · 06/06/2006 10:13

I really don't think i'd eat food suggested to me by someone calling themselves Freddie the Forager, or whatever his name was.

If I actually knew that the guy scraped up and ate roadkill, then the very thought of travelling across London to some out of the way location and meeting up with him, would frankly immediately disappear from my mind.

The prgramme, on the other hand, may be interesting to watch for a while...

I MISS MASTERCHEF!!!!

Salamander · 09/06/2006 12:09

I doubt anyone is checking this thread any more now, but thought i'd just state for the record that I have given up on this programme.

This Jamie Oliver wannabe (including a gf calles Jules) is on a silly mission and I have lost interest.

Do I really want to be served food that isn't chosen on quality, but availability and proximity to the place where I eat it?

No - i'd much rather eat carefully sourced and tested quality ingredients...

END OF! :)

zippitippitoes · 09/06/2006 12:14

I agree.. just out of interest Salamander do you check active convos?

Salamander · 09/06/2006 12:18

Hi Zippi!

I have to admit I haven't been that adventurous on MN. I haven't had the time to go exploring.

Why do you ask?

zippitippitoes · 09/06/2006 12:21

just because it's the easiest way to get the hang of mn as you can "find" everyone actively posting in real time. I asked because you said about checking the thread and i thought maybe you hadn't got into active convos yet Smile

Salamander · 09/06/2006 12:28

Thanks for your help Zippi.

I have threads on a 'watch' list so i can see them at a glance, but haven't done that Active Convos thing.
i'll give it a try - many thanks!!!

zippitippitoes · 09/06/2006 12:31

I thought maybe not..you will find it makes you experience more fulfilling!!! See you soon!

Salamander · 09/06/2006 13:04

Yes - thanks for the advice Zippi!

Salamander · 16/06/2006 12:47

Is anyone still watching this show!?!?!?!?

Bomper · 16/06/2006 17:48

No, I have to say I gave up with this, would maybe have persevered (sp?) if it wasn't at such a crappy time (ie right over bath and getting ready for bedtime for dd2), but wouldn't make a special effort to catch it, unlike Masterchef!!
