I think and do point out if this is terribly wrong - I will stay for 5/10 mins and shamelessly use the fact my son is home alone as a means of an exit? He can't be left alone longer than 15 mins as he panics - okay, I know elder dd will be here, but she may go into labour!

Farley- I agree, the rowdy atmosphere and silly wigs only reallyhappened on unusual occasions- like a middle Sunday, or 3rd Monday. Not all the time Oh, I say!

David Mercer was born in Swansea and went to Dynevor School (according to linked in). Welsh and proud!

Slow cooking lamb is not actually cooking. Not technically. I have slow cooked all last week and into this week so I do not have to technically cook... No Siree - minimum amount of time and effort needed. All I have to do now is slice it, dish it, let them eat it!

I'm spending waay too much time thinking about David Mercer now and boring the pants off everyone, but I think he was some sort of a local councillor (in Swansea) before his umpiring career took off. Have a vagu memory of seeing his face on posters on lamp-posts. Or is that another one of my thrilling dreams?

Yes, I am Welsh too. Not living in Wales anymore though, as work brought me to London 13 years ago and I ended up staying put. The DSs are in doubt as to who to support for rugby though. The presence of daffodils throughout the h ouse during the Six Nations gives them a clue

At college enrollment today, dd's came with me and saw their old primary teacher there and they all just went into talking Welsh at a rate of knots and I felt like a right twerp stood there completely ignorant to the conversation. I wandered off, met a nice man in the corridor...
