I finally watched, and I was reminded how much I like/love each of the characters.

I'm glad Cathy got good news. My heart breaks for Adam.

I loved the end scene and the cracked ice and the pacemaker zapper!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/07/2013 17:32

cathy was always told she had grade 4, no cure, would die

and suddenly her tumours are starting to shrink and given longer to live Hmm

glad hubby isnt dead but all loose ends seem to be tying up too nicely iyswim

i did like the pacemaker bit, was very funny and the falling in the pool, tho surely you would call an ambulance as someone who is dying from cancer suddenly falls into a freezing cold pool cant be good for imune system

Does anyone know when this is on. Was expecting episode 2 tonight at 10? But no sign

EightToSixer · 18/07/2013 21:12

Ignore m. I was searching channel 5 (moron emoticon) it's on More4 at 10 tonight :)

mizfiesta · 21/07/2013 21:50

I hate to say this as I've loved the past two seasons of The Big C, but I've not been impressed with the last two episodes. It's trying too hard to be funny imo. It's still early days mind you and might improve. What do you all think of it thus far?

HighBrows · 21/07/2013 23:59

I really like Cathy's new 'London bar' life and I loved her chat with the principal. I really like the characters in this show, they are all just really good.

I'm liking this season. It's good. Not mad exciting but it's funny and smart.

Yonihadtoask · 10/09/2013 08:30

Is this the last series?

I watched last week's episode, and I thought it looked like it could have been the last ever episode - as she swims off. Also there is no soundtrack to play out.

However I checked the tv guide and there is an episode this week too.

HighBrows · 12/09/2013 09:59

No as far as I know there's a season 4 and then it's over.

I've really liked this season, I loved when Joy got run over by the bus. She was so smug.
I hate the change in Paul he's turned very arrogant.
My favourite thing in the whole season was Sean's relationship - 'we're a trouple'... loved it Grin

Yonihadtoask · 12/09/2013 10:43

oh, at least there is a season 4 to look forward to.

I don'tlike Paul now either, he's strange.

Love Ababu :)

HighBrows · 12/09/2013 10:52

She's wonderful isn't she!?
Adam has really come into his own too.

I do love all the characters but I'm disappointed that Paul has turned into an arsehole, hopefully this will be rectified soon!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2013 13:26

last episode of s3 tonight and then s4 starts next week, 4 one hour long episodes

assume last one on 10th october and she will die and i will sob through whole episode

Yonihadtoask · 12/09/2013 15:11

Ooh really!

I don't think she will die.

But, who knows :)

Wil check out the tv guide and set to record so I don't miss a single episode.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2013 21:19

She has to die

Was told in s1 that it was stage 4 uncureable and would die but not sure when

Yonihadtoask · 14/09/2013 17:35

Well. I wasn't expecting that ending!

Am pleased that we only have to wait until next Thursday.

It does make me think - if I had a terminal illness, how would I spend my last months.

Lighthousekeeping · 14/09/2013 21:10

What have you got up to? I was disappointed with this season. I gave up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/09/2013 21:29

4 starts next week

mrsmika · 15/09/2013 22:13

She does die. I agree that Paul is being odd and a bit of a nob! Was pleased to see Joy hit by the bus and love Shaun's antics. Ababu is hilarious. I hope Adam settles down a bit and makes the most of the time with Cathy. This series has felt a bit different to me, maybe the writers have changed, but it doesn't seemed to 'feel' right, iykwim.

Greengagesummer · 17/09/2013 14:22

Agreed...it does feel different. But lots of hilarious scenes nonetheless. Cathy's character is a bit less likeable, and the trial working for her may be part of that, in that she is thinking less of her loved ones including herself, and more just herself. Especially the Alexis fantasy. God knows what I would do, though....

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/09/2013 23:03

So. Any tissues yet? 3 to go

Greengagesummer · 24/09/2013 19:30

Sobbed lmy eyes out when I finally watched second part of series 3 finale & double epi Hereafter...

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2013 20:16

I got a bit puzzled. At first as saw her dog and her talking to dead neighbour I thought she was dead

But everyone talks to her. Brother takes out for a meal /bike ride etc so assume she isn't dead

Said it was 5mths later and Paul is chatting up a woman

'Blondes head explodes'

Greengagesummer · 24/09/2013 22:09

No, not dead yet, but clearly getting closer - all that discussion with Marlene & dog, well, she's clearly been halfway over the dead-alive line for some time, so -
I found the situation between her & Paul so sad, especially when it was made clear that he permanantly slept on the couch & she talked about him waiting for her to die. But the scenes with Adam & the fireworks & her seeing his reactions to her presents, 'always looking upwards' very poignant. And her speech to the school did make me laugh!

I think the writing is back on form.

diddl · 26/09/2013 07:40

When she "sees" dead people, I wonder if she is hallucinating due to the drugs/illness-or just imagining that she sees them as she wants to belive that she will/that there is something after death.

vjg13 · 26/09/2013 08:34

It's been a great tv show, really hope they keep it going in the same way until the end. It is starting to be more of a sob fest for me now.

vjg13 · 26/09/2013 08:35

Saw 'Cathy' in a film trailer yesterday!
