DVD Box sets for holiday for 8 and 9yo?

When we go on holiday, we tend to take a box set with us - very hot in the middle of the day and gives the kids a down time out of the sun and resting so they can stay up with us in the evenings. They are nearly 9 and 8. In the past we have done Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars type stuff.

Looking for some ones for this year - 10 days of holiday, so either 1/2/3 box sets to get us through would be perfect. Wondering about Superman set, the Spiderman Trilogy, Lord of the Rings (or are they too young?)... but welcome any other recommendations.

You'll have gathered that action movies are a hit and ideally I won't have to spend a fortune on the set - very happy to get second hand on Amazon/Ebay.

BTW, we do also play card games, chess, backgammon etc, the holiday is not all about watching TV before someone says it! Just a DVD means we all just switch off for an hour or two....

Don't worry.
I have 5 DC and whenever we go on holiday we have tv time at some point during the day to recharge everybody's batteries!
