Sad I'm stillin shock. Bless his family. Tomorrow night Sky Atlantic are showing the top four episodes. Where would you start?

Pine Barrens followed by any other episode, I absolutely love them all, we are going to start again from the beginning and watch them all (something we do at least once a year)
Terribly sad news, an absolutely amazing actor and, I imagine gave an awesome cuddle!
RIP James Gandolfini

Pine barrens!
But I loved them all!
I even went on sopranos tour when I was last in America, took a picture alongside Vito.

My friends there on holiday. Said it was announced in the bar after the Yankees game. I kind of wish I was there.

Difficult, love them all! Maybe the one where Chris goes to rehab "I know what its like to loose a pet!" Gandolphini so good in that, makes the show funny and serious at the same time! Also like the one where he takes peyote.

Lighthousekeeping · 20/06/2013 18:36

The one that i never want to see again is the Adrianna one Sad it still gives me the shivers.

I loved the one legged Russian woman so any of them with her in it tickle me.

Oh Pine Barrens the best IMHO Grin

GoofyIsACow · 20/06/2013 19:49

Yes! The Russian girl (why the hell can't i remember her name???!) is hilarious! I want to punch Janice for being so frickin annoying!
I love the episodes with Pie Oh My, and the picture which Paulie has his face painted over Tony's!

Its a strange thing to find funny but the episode where Gloria slaps Tony with a steak never fails to crack me up!

Blanketsandpillows · 20/06/2013 19:56

Pine barrens for me too! Best series ever!

Lighthousekeeping · 20/06/2013 20:28

Omg was that the woman he dumped when her face burnt off? Dumped her in A and E? Why do we smile at suc baad things. Actually, it wasn't Gloria was it? Gloria touched me for some reason.

OP posts:
GoofyIsACow · 21/06/2013 07:18

No Gloria was the car sales woman who he met at Melfi's office, the one with the face burnt off was the art sales woman who was seeing Ralphie.

She was called Valentina.

It was Gloria who hit him with the steak, she was very troubled and eventually killed herself (tony found out from someone else, they broke up well before)

Roshbegosh · 21/06/2013 07:28

Is Pine Barons the one where they went looking for Colleges. He was dutiful dad one minute and strangling a guy the next. I did love the episode with the Polish lady, where is my white shining armour?
He was a genius, they all were
.

Roshbegosh · 21/06/2013 07:31

Got to say though, I hate the way the series was wound up.

SugarSpunSisters · 21/06/2013 10:29

Pine Barrens for me too. Steve Buscemi directed it Grin

"I'm starving to death and you got fucking Tic Tacs?!"

Roshbegosh · 21/06/2013 10:35

Oh that one, the burying the body and getting lost. Yes, brilliant. And the fancy Italian shoes in the snow.

lottieandmia · 21/06/2013 10:42

I love The Sopranos. I have lots of favourite episodes but I particularly like the one where Paulie and Christopher botch their mission to kill the Russian guy and end up stuck in the snow, having to be rescued by Tony.

Irina was Tony's original mistress. I read something a while back about how Tony was attracted to women who had Borderline Personality Disorder because his mother had it. He has to accept that Gloria has the same patterns of behaviour as Irina before her.

lottieandmia · 21/06/2013 10:45

I don't like the way the show ended either - it was just too ambiguous. I also heard that people often didn't know they were going to be killed off until the day they were shooting and Sal 'Pussy' Bonpensiero's killing off caused furious rows among the cast.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/06/2013 10:52

There's loads of stuff in that interview I linked too. Like how he got a pay rise and shared it out with the rest of them Sad

OP posts:
lottieandmia · 21/06/2013 10:56

51 is young isn't it? Sad

I always thought it was never quite the same without Adriana - the episode where she was killed was really horrible. Christopher chose the mafia over her but I never got the impression he had a comparable relationship with his eventual wife.

lottieandmia · 21/06/2013 10:57

Thanks for the heads up re: Sky Atlantic.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/06/2013 11:05

It's so poignant to think this was made years ago m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=GeldvNxpW44&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DGeldvNxpW44

OP posts:
Pinebarrens · 21/06/2013 11:05

can you guess?

Roshbegosh · 21/06/2013 11:10

I've just seen which episodes will be on and I don't think Pine Barons is on.

thestringcheesemassacre · 21/06/2013 11:11

Pine Barrens was amazing.

I also LOVED Christophers intervention. When Paulie shouts at him it makes me laugh so much.

Best show ever, I loved it so much.

Lighthousekeeping · 21/06/2013 11:15

Do you think it's because Tony wasn't in it so much?

OP posts:
Roshbegosh · 21/06/2013 11:26

I love Tony. Well I guess I wouldn't really love that character but I loved the sopranos.
Did you link to an interview? Just watched the YouTube clip, brilliant.
