Alison Steadman is a dead cert for great acting anyway but I thought the rest of the cast were good too.

I know someone who's marriage is so like this. Except she hasn't retired as was never expected allowed to work I wonder if she watched it?

Most families have a Kevin. Ours is much worse. At least this one has some conscience.

I did laugh a lot but also found it really poignant.

Beautifly demonstrated the fine line between comedy and tragedy.
So many couples end up like this as for years, unbeknown to themselves, they have been living parallel lives.
She's been engrossed in the children - then grand-children, and he's been engrossed in his work, then his hobbies - no common ground between them.
Quite sad but so true to life.
The adult children were also very realistic. Completely selfish in regard to to Mum. Not a second thought that maybe she has needs too.

yes was so moving at the end when she said it was her dad who'd died. But so typical.
