What will replace Merlin for Autumn viewing?

I know it's sacrilidge to be thinking of Autumn Blush but with all the talk of Dr Who on another thread.....

My DS and DH used to love Merlin and Dr Who, the last (4?) years the series of Merlin ran from September until Dr Who took over Saturday nights.
Then culminating in the Christmas and New Year episode ,

So, what's on the agenda?
Smile TIA

think there was talk of something like the 4 musketeers or something? Antonio cabrera (sir lancealot from merlin) was one of the characters? can t remember, there was SOMETHING!

they should show old old OLD dr who especially this year.

Colin Morgans names been mentioned as the next doc, even tho hes been in a episode.

saintlyjimjams · 03/06/2013 22:44

Yes I am gutted. What is going to replace my weekly dose of shirtless Bradley?

I did wonder about Colin Morgan as the new doctor, but I don't think it will be him.

marjproops · 03/06/2013 22:49

could be a poss tho as Freema whatsit was a diff character and then came back as Martha.

and karen gillan was a pyroville girl and then reappeared as AMy.

but as for Sat night family entertainment....they should show horrible histories!

anything but bruce and tess!!!!!!!

Isn't the new Atlantis series meant to be the big replacement for Merlin?

saintlyjimjams · 04/06/2013 07:00

Oh looks like it coppertop & 13 episodes - same as Merlin

I think they want to remake Poldark as well!

marjproops · 04/06/2013 18:18

yeh but there was still something i read and Cabreras was in it, cant remember who else they said.

coppertop · 04/06/2013 21:06

It looks as though it's BBC America who are doing the Musketeers remake for 2014:

saintlyjimjams · 04/06/2013 22:16

Hm now that looks as if it has potential for shirtless action :hopes:

MoominMammasHandbag · 06/06/2013 23:14

Ah I used to love Poldark; swore I'd name my firstborn daughter Demelza (in my defence I was probably about 12 at the time).

harryhausen · 07/06/2013 09:36

OP, we're a bit bereft in our house too. As a family we all watched Dr Who and then Merlin. My dd especially was a fan. She's still sad.

I really hope they have something good up their sleeve that's suitable for family watching (with a bit of scariness thrown in!).

Personally, I can't wait for Sherlock but I'll have to wait at least another 12 months I reckon and even then it'll be over in 2 weeks.

harryhausen · 07/06/2013 09:37

3 weeks sorry.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/06/2013 10:06

harryhausen, it's possible that Sherlock will be on in autumn/winter, isn't it? I think they have filmed some and are doing the rest in late summer, so it could feasibly be on before the year's out ...

The Atlantis thing sounds quite good though.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2013 12:30

Oooh ATLANTIS looks like DS/DH sort of thing.
(I had a momentary fleeting vision of Patrick Duffy Man from Atlantis and thought gaaah ) Blush

The White Queen is supposed to be on in late summer - looks pretty good!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/06/2013 12:40

Think the White Queen starts on 16 June, so not long at all!

Forgetfulmog · 07/06/2013 12:54

Oh thanks Lady! God I'm glad you said that!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/06/2013 14:00

Here y'are

harryhausen · 07/06/2013 14:36

LadyClarice, I reckon Sherlock won't be on until January 2014. I think they'll wait until they're all filmed first. Last time it was a big event starting at New Year 2012.

They've filmed a lot around me and I've missed it allGrin

The White Queen looks good.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/06/2013 14:54

Yes, sure they won't screen them until they're all filmed, but I read that the second and last lot of filming would be in late summer. It's not likely we'll have to wait until 12 months from now, anyway.

Forgetfulmog · 07/06/2013 15:00

Thanks Lady Smile

harryhausen · 07/06/2013 16:15

GrinLadyClarice, I've had a brain fart clearly. What am I saying thinking New Year 2014 is 12 months away?

You're right.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 07/06/2013 16:34
Grin

Scarily, it's not that far off ...

On the upside, the sooner they put Sherlock on, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

marjproops · 07/06/2013 18:43

is the white queen for family viewing tho? im sure whe they showed the trailer it looked a bit 'adult'.
