Can I please ask, is it scary?

I'm an absolute wuss since DD was born (seriously pathetic) but keep hearing people rave about this series and I do enjoy apocalyptic /zombie scenarios.

Should I watch it or will I neer sleep again? (not that DD lets me anyway)

I had to watch it in daylight - I'd say around an 8. Not never sleep again but made me more than a little uncomfortable during the night feeds!

EleanorHandbasket · 28/05/2013 18:55

I love it, just started watching it a couple of weeks ago. I'ma massive wuss and I don't find it too scary. I've even watched it while alone in the house (apart from sleeping kids).

You MUST watch it, it's amazing stuff.

InspirationFail · 28/05/2013 18:56

I'm a serious wuss and I found the zombies a bit scary to start with but you soon get caught up in the story of the fight for survival and the zombies become almost incidental.

Virgil · 28/05/2013 18:56

It can be scary and quite graphic in places. You do become desensitised to it (not necessarily a good thing!). I think its great though.

StuffezLaYoni · 28/05/2013 18:58

It's really great, but definitely graphic, as Virgil says. Have watched all three series and desperate for series four to HURRY UP AND BE MADE!!!

PollyPlummer · 28/05/2013 19:00

Its not scary in a chilling shit yourself sort of way, more an exciting peel you off the ceiling after watching sort of way.
It is very gory and will make you jump, but give it a go you can always just turn it off if you don't like it.

ClartyCarol · 28/05/2013 19:02

It's gory rather than scary, I won't eat when I'm watching it. There are some very tense moments but I don't find it scary as such. As others have said you almost become desensitised to the zombies, you're more caught up in the human aspect of it all.

Watch it -it's fantastic!

abi2790 · 29/05/2013 08:37

I agree it's definitely more gory than scary. There are a few jumpy bits but I wouldn't say it's scary.

PoppyAmex · 30/05/2013 15:50

Right, I'm convinced so I'll give it a try.

I am however putting all your names on a spreadsheet and come back to hunt you (bite you?) if it scares the crap out of me! Grin

Enjoy Grin

I really, really enjoy it, and I can't cope with horror films at all. I think its more about how ordinary people cope in situations of extreme terror and trauma rather than gore, if that makes sense. The zombies are slightly incidental.

YoniBottsBumgina · 05/06/2013 19:10

I don't find it too scary but DP has banned me from watching it directly before bed as I jump around and grab him in my sleep apparently Blush

scottishmummy · 05/06/2013 21:18

it can be ghouish

WestmorlandSausage · 05/06/2013 21:23

I can't watch it before bed as it gives me nightmares but I am a wussy wuss. I found it too much to start off with and almost hated watching it but couldn't stop watching it at the same time.

I don't know if the zombies have just lessened (now in early series 2) or if I have just got more used to them but they don't scare me quite as much. Its all about the story now.

FlowerPower88 · 06/06/2013 11:04

Ahh i love TWD, i'm eagerly waiting for season 4!
At first the zombies are a bit scary/gory but once you get really into it, and the storylines, the Zombie attacks become normal watching if that makes sense lol.
Some episodes there are hardly any gore, its more about watching to see how the characters survive that i enjoy it for, well, that and Daryl Dixon
Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/06/2013 14:07

Love twd and and can't wait for no 4

Without giving spoilers away - it's what can they do next in s4

The zomblies as I call them Grin are funny

CheerfulYank · 06/06/2013 14:11

I loooove it and I don't "do" scary.

It's very gory but not terrifying.
