My dd recently discovered it, (I don't know what channel), but set the TV to record lots of episodes over the last few weeks.

Myself, dd and ds spent a v enjoyable evening watching them all last night, for once all watching the same thing! My DD is 15 and DS is 8, I suppose it's aimed at teenagers really but there was something in it for all of us. My 8 year old found the youngest child in it called 'Brick', absolutely hilarious!

Yes, we all love The Middle in our house, and my DS(8) loves Brick!

I've been brought to tears several times by that programme, it is really well-written.

CatelynStark · 18/05/2013 14:18

Yes, we all love it too! Especially the one where they go camping and 'Raymomd' makes a guest appearance! :)

nenevomito · 18/05/2013 14:18

Yep it's a favourite standby program in our house along with modern family.

cornypedicure · 18/05/2013 14:19

yes my ds's love it

LemonBreeland · 18/05/2013 14:22

I don't like it. My DC love it though. Both dses favourite name in the world is Brick. in fact ds2 named one of our chickens brick.

itsallshitandmoreshit · 18/05/2013 14:26

I love it and have seen every episode. I love Axel and Sue. Sue's positivity cracks me up. Can't watch for the next season (5?).

ItsallisnowaFeegle · 18/05/2013 14:26

Love it! I want a Brick! Grin

MrsMcEnroe · 18/05/2013 14:28

In my darkest moments I console myself with the extremely faint hope that my DD will be as positive, kind and loving as Sue when she's a teenager!

TheCrackFox · 18/05/2013 14:30

Love it.

Although I am concerned that they are using secret CCTV in my house to get most of their story lines. Very disconcerting.

JustGiveMeFiveMinutes · 18/05/2013 14:31

It is eseential viewing. Love the Hecks.

nipersvest · 18/05/2013 14:34

my dc's love it too

BriansBrain · 18/05/2013 14:36

We really like it and the modern family.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii · 18/05/2013 14:38

I like it but not as much as Malcolm in The Middle.

CorrieDale · 18/05/2013 14:42

Really like it. I stumbled across it by accident a couple of years ago. I am wondering how the dynamic will change when axl goes to college. Maybe they'll do a modern family and have him last just a few weeks?

fuzzpig · 18/05/2013 14:47

I love it! Brick is just adorable :)

Only discovered it by chance as I got series one from the library where I work, but can't get any other series and they are really pricey on amazon.

What channel is it (and Modern Family as I've not tried that) on please? :)

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 18/05/2013 14:48

Yes, we like it too. DD just 10 also loves it.

MrsReiver · 18/05/2013 14:52

New episodes of The Middle and Modern Family are on Sky One on Fridays from 8pm. There are repeats on Sky 1 and 2 fairly regularly. In fact I think there's back to back The Middle on now....

RhondaJean · 18/05/2013 14:55

There is, we have it on while we get ready to go bra shopping.

It's one of my favourite programmes at the moment.

MrsDoomsPatterson · 18/05/2013 14:56

The middle is ace - and modern family.

fuzzpig · 18/05/2013 15:24

Ah I thought it would be sky :( freeview only here!

fuzzpig · 18/05/2013 15:24

(thanks for replying though!)

Thumbwitch · 18/05/2013 15:30

I have tried watching it a few times. I can't get past the fact that, apart from having a girl in it, it's so similar to Malcolm in the Middle, even down to having the kooky-looking youngest child. And I know that the actor who plays Brick has some growth delay from Osteogenesis imperfecta (yeah, I just cheated and checked what it was called on Wiki), whereas the actor who played Dewey just had sticky-out ears.

I think it's ok but can't get into it enough to want to watch it regularly.

MoreBeta · 18/05/2013 15:36

Yes we love The Middle. Very funny but also a very serious social commentary about the economic/social situation facing much of 'Middle America' where incomes and standards of living have fallen in real terms for over 20 years.

It does to some extent reflect the isues facing the 'squeezed middle' in the UK as well.

Nectar · 18/05/2013 22:24

Lots of fans of this programme thenGrin. Thank you to the poster who said it was on this afternoon, DS had a friend round and DD and I sat and watched it. Brilliant viewing!
