Doctors Addicts Anonymous Continued - the return to 'WTF'?

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday third rate soap Doctors. BBC1, 1.45pm.

I know in the last thread I said it was a second rate soap, but I've downgraded it to third rate given the recent lack of WTF storylines. Come on scriptwriters, stop being so seri-arse!

Regulars: The lovely Mrs T has her bob wig on and is waiting to sign you at the desk.
Newbies: All welcome. Join in the banter, ask any questions, we have verrrrrrrrry many experts on this thread. Smile

Oh, and a small favour to ask. Can someone kill Emma off please? Fankyouverymuch Grin

Don't think I'd have got £150 let alone £150k. Not saying that I'd have done that Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2013 21:43

It's weird to offer that much, surely?

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2013 21:43

I really disliked Julia's granddaughter, what was Nardi all about!?!

This is a funny episode! She looks much older than 17 now, its all a bit :(

Who is mark?

Grin @ If it makes you feel better!

MsNobodyAgain · 01/06/2013 03:11

Mark was in a show on C4 that followed him running, owning a hotel in real life. He was hilarious. A bit Basil Fawltyish.

Just popping in to bump the thread back up Threads I'm On. Been away for the week with very patchy Wifi and no realistic chance of watching Doctors, unfortunately ended up needing one as DS broke his arm yesterday.

If anyone could summarise the past week in a few lines I'd be grateful. If not I will just start again next week and probably not notice anything different

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/06/2013 22:21

Oh dear, WhoKnows - is he ok? How did it happen?

Last week - ummmmm.... Zara and Daniel were desperate for a shag but had to wait until Friday. Friday arrived and lots of events conspired against them so they still couldn't have a shag. Mrs T has been looking very down and frumpy, depressed about the Rev. Jizz has moved out of Kevin's, and Al is getting more stalkerish. They have decided to get the echo-cardiogram (sp??) machine and employ the medical student Heston is sponsoring to do the admin for it.

Just read the spoilers. It isn't looking massively exciting. I do think Hestembe has potential, though.

MsNobodyAgain · 02/06/2013 04:32

Poor DS who. Hope he is not too uncomfortable and it heals well. X

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2013 07:51

Thank you Anne and Who. He slipped off a rock and landed with his arm sort of twisted under him. The local hospital were brilliant, he was seen straightaway, x-rayed and plastered up within an hour. He was pretty fed up yesterday but seems much chirpier this morning.

What happened to Kevin and the irritating giggly girl? That was the last episide I saw

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2013 07:53

Duh, not Who, that's me, I meant MsN. DS is sat here with me giving a running commentary on a Simpsons episode and I was distracted.

MsNobodyAgain · 02/06/2013 08:43

Irritating giggly girl dared to make plans, like going to the cinema, instead of just staying in bed so Kev binned her.

Maybe he remembered the 'curse of Kev' and backed off because he didn't want her to die. Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2013 11:12

Glad your ds is ok WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes! Giggly girl was just a plot to get Jizz to move out so Al could stalk her more effectively so didn't last long Grin

OodPi · 02/06/2013 12:48

We are using quite a lot of RL Doctors on this thread.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2013 14:10

Thanks Cinnamon. How is BabyOod now Ood?

OodPi · 02/06/2013 16:56

He seems ok. Just waiting on check ups to confirm but I'm confident in him. Only problem is a dodgy tummy which appears to be from the ABs (still) possibly a (hopefully) temporary cows milk intolerance so I'm eliminating at the moment. sobs over chocolate & cheese

OodPi · 02/06/2013 16:57

How olds your ds who ? Old enough to cope with the plaster?

How are you now MsN?

MsNobodyAgain · 02/06/2013 17:14

Glad babyOod is doing well.

I am ok thanks for asking. Trying desperately to gain the weight I lost when ill but I am on a low-salt diet so I can't just stuff my face with bacon butties. Shame.

And have you tasted unsalted butter? No, you won't have because IT DOESN'T TASTE OF ANYTHING. Angry

OP posts:
toldmywrath · 02/06/2013 17:22

Low salt diet sounds un promising MsNo- I bet people say to you they wish they had to diet to gain weight rather than lose it.
Sorry to hear about broken bones & glad babyOod is improved.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2013 19:15

I'd struggle with a low salt diet MsN, I can pass up biscuits and chocolate, but am very partial to crisps and salted butter. Cheese would be hard for me to give up too Ood. Glad Baby Ood is improving, what a worrying time you've had. My DD used to get a temporary lactose intolerance for a week or two after every illness as a baby / toddler, it wasn't bad enough to affect her through my BM so I was able to feed her without altering my diet (this was when she was 6 months+ and on solids, cows milk, yogurt etc made her vom) but it was bloody hard work when she was 18 months old and I had to go back to 24/7 BF for a week.

Anyway, DS is 9, so well able to cope with being in a cast, he's been much chirpier all day today, but is still a bit frustrated and in pain. He's depressed about having to give up all his sports (he is sports mad) for a few weeks just when the weather has got good. He has Asperger's Syndrome and this does make things worse in that he relies on going to sports clubs and playing football at break time for his social life, friendships don't come too easily. I have got to get him booked into the fracture clinic tomorrow so we should be able to get advice from them.

toldmywrath · 02/06/2013 20:02

Oh dear & just getting into summer for swimming too. He'll be glad to get the cast off!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2013 21:46

Good luck with the fracture clinic whoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes if its anything like the one my local hospital! Never seen anything like it, I got so Angry I wanted to walk out, luck dh was with me and is much calmer.

Glad to hear baby Ood is better and you are good MsNobodyAgain!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/06/2013 21:58

I know Cinnamon - I am dreading it. We were so lucky with the hospital we took him to on Friday. Unfortunately one of DS's most prominent AS traits is an inability to cope with timings being indeterminate. He has an extremely acute sense of time and cannot bear not knowing when something will happen (he will wait for hours for something if you can confidently predict the time at which it will occur). I am a bit this way myself too so I get twitchy as well. Hmm.

OodPi · 03/06/2013 07:16

Dd2 is like that with times too.

MsNobodyAgain · 03/06/2013 13:46

Afternoon if anyone is here. I'm dodging the sun. That's my excuse anyway...
