They did a nostalgia one on CITV a while back and Nick jr once had Nick jr classics like the wombles and Mr benn etc. not any more.

but all the kids tv channels they could do one for us kids at heart!

childhood stuff like play school, jackanory, magic roundabout, etc

and another one where they showed old classic family faves like the Monkees, Brady bunch, wonder woman, bionic man, etc? so many channels and alwasy the same stuff.

Gold are ok with Blackadder and some mothers do ave em and stuff, but i want more!

less trashy reality shows, bring back the good stuff!

Just come over all nostalgic - Take Hart, the Clangers...
Yes to the Phoenix and the Carpet! I loved that. (Read the book to DS1 recently, though, and found it a bit of a struggle. Really old-fashioned and convoluted use of English... but I know I devoured it as a child. Funny how language has changed.) Used to love the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn as well.

Rentaghost

The Flumps

Chorlton and the Wheelies (just Googled it and it ran from 1976-1979, so I must have been younger than DCs. Blimey. Feeling old!)

marjproops · 29/04/2013 21:23

Huckleberry finn!!!! the actor that played huck was on stargate the other day and i remembered that!

Remember those Sunday afternoon serials? There was one with a circus or a traveller boy maybe, and he had a tattoo on his shoulder an they realised he was from the posh family. I would love to know what it's called!

EduCated · 29/04/2013 21:39

Ooh, yes, Phoenix and the Carpet!

If you were a childhood Chockablock fan, this has to be seen to be believed: m.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2F#/watch?v=sPHoDI315mA (the fun starts a few minutes in...)

Fred Harris, how did you keep a straight face? :)
