I'd forgotten how brilliant Stargate is!!

used to watch it years ago-till T'ealc grew hair and then RDA left and then it all went downhill from there...even though I like Ben Browder.

But the early ones...DCs decided she loves T'ealc and daniel jackson and so eager to watch it again.

forgot how gorgeously rugged RDA was (not so much these days!) and all the 'in' jokes, especially love the 'spot the cameos from Peter Deluise' bits.

the To'kra voices still annoying too though.

and Sams dad looks like Mike, the carer on The Dumping Ground on cbbc!

any other SG1 fans out there?

Weirdly I've never watched it before but dh fell asleep with the remote in his hand earlier and I was sewing so I watched it today
I can see how one could get hooked

and the one-liners from Colonel O'neil too, fab stuff.

Loved in the very 1st episode when Sam said ''we magyvered this together''!!!!

Got them all on DVD and have got DS (age 9) hooked. Grin

Unfortunately we're not getting to watch them very often as DD (6) is totally underwhelmed by them. But maybe in a few years she'll come round. :-)

cant tell you that as Im an avid trekkie too!
And Whovian!

try watching the film that came out first. Colenol O neail wa splayed by Kurt russel and Daniel jackson was James spader, but the actors in the series are much better!

But youll get where the stargate originated and stuff. bit overlong but then its easier to understand the series IMO.

If your DH is a fan im sure hed be happy to convert em- enlighten!!

Nah he can't stand it, it was what the TV reverted to when his recorded program finished.

I think it went downhill after the original team split Sad

oh yes i cant stand Vala either. what a waste of time she was.
tom yes, series 1-8.

Urgo was good yes, i love the Deluise family. ive got loads of fave episodes, never remember the names of them tho.

the one where O neil and Tealc were stuck in that time loop was hilarious.
and the one where oneil and carter were stuck in the ice cave on that'ice planet'-spoiler- wont reveal the planet to Tom Grin

I was a massive SG1 fan a few years ago. I have met all the cast and been to the sets in Vancouver to see the Stargates.
How many times did Daniel die? lol

I love stargate. I love RDA too. Liked it when his hair went silver in the later seasons. My favourite episode is the time loop one. Makes me laugh every time when Daniel looks up and T'ealc and Jack are juggling Grin
If DD had been a boy I was considering calling her T'ealc Blush

Ooh, this has been aired on tv the last little while and my oh has recordd them. I wasn't too into it to begin with but really enjoy it now. I can't wait to see how it ends so I'm reading these posts with one eye closed to spoilers!

Ah, I got very fed up with DumbJack and grew to loathe Sam, so really enjoyed the later series when it was Farscape SG-1. Grin I got back into it and was sorry to see it end.

I really enjoyed Atlantis too, well, except when Carter was in it. Bah!

I liked Atlantis 1st season and tried to get into the other one with robert carlyle but SG for me is RDA and T'ealc and the original gang.
Corin Nemec was good in season 6too.

yeh, how many times has Daniel died!! and Sams boyfriends??

My favourite episode was the black hole episode!

I was only thinking about it the other day and how long it ran for, plus all the spin offs.

We are currently most of the way through the last series of Atlantis (box set) then we'll give SGU a go, but the original series really had the 'wow' factor for me, plus the humour of RDA.

I watched them all-they used to either follow or precede Star Trek and it was a bumper night's viewing.

I used to think I was a massive fan of SG-1 until I viewed a house that had pictures of the cast and shelves full of SG dvds in every room. Put it into perspective for me...
I wasted so much time ahem 'working from home' when Sky had it on 3 times a day. That was bliss!
