I have forceps fear.

gymboywalton · 06/03/2013 22:02

isn anyone else wincing at the sight of that poor girl's skin?
that must be sore surely?

SusieSusieSheep · 06/03/2013 22:05

Can't stand the thought of an epistiotimy, I'd almost rather have a c section.

CatsCantFlyFast · 06/03/2013 22:06

Right i'm back. Anyone around?

FriendofDorothy · 06/03/2013 22:09

I though her skin looked really sore. I wondered whether she had PCOS.

leniwhite · 06/03/2013 22:09

Knives don't mix with perineal areas, yikes! My OH is squeamish about cutting the cord so I'm glad he's at work

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/03/2013 22:18

If they say forceps can you say no I'd rather have a c section? Honestly I'm so so scared of forceps!!!

UnknownGnome · 06/03/2013 22:32

In all the time I've watched this programme I don't think I've ever seen a baby born by ventouse; it always seems to be forceps. Does anyone know why this is? I'd be interested to see one because that's how my ds was born.

UnknownGnome · 06/03/2013 22:35

And I think it's too late for a csection once you're at the pushing stage - the baby's too far down. To have a section at that point would involve pushing baby back up first Confused

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/03/2013 22:42

Oh bugger - I don't have the same fear of ventouse

TwelveLeggedWalk · 06/03/2013 22:44

Yes I really felt for her with her skin. I've had shocking spots all my life, and the one time it eased off was when pregnant. Mind you, that was about the only bit of my body that did improve with pregnancy!

Toddle · 06/03/2013 23:04

Did they say what Sophie's baby weighed?

BeaWheesht · 06/03/2013 23:13

Was it just me or were they all very cute babies this week?

Yes to a lot of blood though according to dh that's nothing compared to when I had a PPH

How did she not cry when he said he didn't need a piece of paper to say ' he liked her and wanted to spend most of his life with her'?? Incidentally in my BiL wedding speech he said 'Hopefully well spend the rest of our lives together' brideZilla was unimpressed

legoqueen · 07/03/2013 06:51

The babies were gorgeous but the whole episode was tinged with sadness.

They tried a ventouse on me just before my section. Perhaps it depends on the hospital.
