I halfway through season 5. Taken on face value this should is gripping and tense. So that's good right?

But I hate the blatant sexism, how badly the women are portrayed a d I don't understand how and why dexter hasn't been caught.

Is season eight the last one?

How did I miss this? I started another thread, and did look to see if there had been another. Title is in big letters too.

Here's my post from t'other thread.

'... I'm weirdly 'meh' about it. Even though I just love this - think I'm still hmm about the ending of the last series. Dexter killing the bad guy and his sister just happens to turn up and catch him in the act, no explanation as to why she would just randomly decide to go there. It's still annoying me now.

Here's hoping for a better series.'

I don't like Deb knowing. Part of the 'fun' is watching her get worked up about catching bad guys, swearing profusely, and then almost catching Dexter out.

Crunchy carrots deb went to the church as that's where the fight was and think body in freezer

Thought at time dexter was silly killing in a crime scene

I liked it but Deb has always annoyed me. Her knowing makes her more annoying. Seemed a bit less realistic than normal. Surely he wouldn't abduct/kill in an airport because once the cops work out he planned on going to Kiev they would check he boarded his flight/check CCTV? Also I don't think airports like it if you check in and don't board. Or has it always been that unrealistic? I missed a lot of the last series due to a newborn.

It's only as dexter got his print of indicator that he tracked him down

I realise that, but to just kill off a character like that? Seems odd, almost not worth the bother of bringing him in on the previous series seeing as he's been bumped off in the 1st episode. I guess I'm still a bit Hmm about this series. Not feelin' in at all yet.

DH & I love Dexter, but have got a bit peed off with him over the last couple of series'. He always used to kill the bad guys who had evaded justice, now he hides evidence from Deb so he can get them himself. Makes him far less likeable.
I like it that Deb knows now - fab cliffhanger for next week!

I'm really not getting this series at all so far. Last night's episode with Deb trying to 'rehabilitate' dexter, the serial killer, was just ridiculous. Move in with her, never mind he's got a son to look after! I don't know how they are going to get around this, as Deb won't just back off and let him kill whoever he gets in his sights. Hmm

Anyone have any idea what the dodgy intern is up to, the one dating Dexter's nanny? He creeps me out. Also, he looks a bit like Dexter's brother, the Ice Truck Killer, who almost killed Deb. What's the betting the dodgy intern will end up being the ITK's son?

Ooh, Son of ITK. Interesting theory. He must have some idea of who the 'real' dexter is given he went for the dummy's hand and has written the serial killer comp game. Why those 2 things if he knows nothing of the dark passenger? Dexter is clearly underestimating him if he thinks dumping him on a park bench will scare him off.

Debs is gonna have to relax a bit. She can't live with dexter forever and ESP not as has a son

Dexter didn't scare him though did he. Turned up bold as brass eve. In his part of the house - as if to say tough shit to him
