As you can see by title I still have part two to watch but caught up with first part on iplayer last night after sis kept telling me to watch it.
What a treat, Mary is lovely on the bake-off and it was no surprise to see how she was brought up. Her childhood seemed a bit like something from an Enid Blyton book. The polio bit was very interesting and very emotional, what a shock when she saw that photo for the first time!
Her detirmination to succeed in her career after not doing well at school was amazing. A really good slice of history too.
Looking forward to part two...
