Suggestions please! Good dramas available on demand

My husbands working all hours at the mo so I want to take advantage of this and watch lots of tv that I love and he hates on demand. But I'm out of touch and don't know what to look for. My fav guilty pleasure is british based ITV or BBC dramas, bonus points if it's northern or a crime drama, featuring feisty characters with or without alcahol/ divorce issues. Recent likes are Scott and Bailey, Monroe, some of those 3 part dramas that itv do etc. I tried Silent Witness but it seemed... too slick for my taste.
Anything I might like on recently?

If you go to the archived catch up, whatever its called, you might find Cambridge Spies. It's very good. I watched the whole series about a month ago. Hth

sky atlantic - Hit and Miss available on Sky on Demand it's bloody brilliant... Love Scott and Bailey but Law and Order UK or try Thorne, Sky Atlantic again on demand.. scaredycat... Mark Billingham writes original... Lewis ain't half bad either. Monroe is just a pure gem of a programme...

I've seen Hit and Miss Dixie and I agree - that really was brilliant! Never caught any of the Law and Order UK's and Thorne is a new one to me so will definitely be looking those up. Also didn't realise that you could get all shamelesses - thanks Savoy
